“Devkota writes well. But his message is confusing. Who are the 'सुकिला
सरहरु' ?
From the point of view of a Jumli or Humli bahun, the bahuns of dhunkuta and
Jhapa are 'सुकिला सरहरु'. From the point of view of a landless dalit in
the tarai, almost everyone else is a 'सुकिला सरहरु'. from the point of
view of those mortgaging their house and land to pay for air ticket and visa
to USA you and I and everyone else who made it to the USA are 'सुकिला
सरहरु' (including the recent bhutanese nepali arrivals). From the point
of view of a Rolpali farmer woman, Hisala Yami and Pampha Bhusal are 'सुकिला
सर-नी-हरु'. From the point of view of those who have never set foot in a
modern hotel lobby, all of us who have (including maoist leaders who are now
very much part of the seminar and conference circuit in kathmandu) are
'सुकिला सर र सर-नी-हरु.). Fromt he point of view of a sherpa who has
never left his village, all those who get on planes and fly abroad are
'सुकिला सरहरु" (and this includes plenty of maoist leaders too !).
My point is यो किसिमको मीठो र जुझारु सुनिने तर कुनै तुक
नभएको वर्ग-द्वेष र वर्ग-द्वन्दका कुराले मात्रै नेपाल मुलुक बन्नेवाला
छैन…यस्ता भाषाले मुलुक बन्ने भए उहिले मुलुक बनिसक्थ्यो…
The fact is RIGHT NOW, शाकिकराम जम्मैलाई काटौं 's wife takes in 50 lakhs
per month from her union gangsters who are part of hte casino labor
unions....
All top maoists are well fed, well dressed, and busy going abroad and
attending embassy receptions....
maoist fighters are sitting in camps receiving tens of thousands of rupees
per person, with no accounts, no responsibilities, and and in many cases
with no control
YCL hoodlums have their fingers in everyone's pie, and are sharing the
revenue with their bosses. So where is the distinction between 'सुकिला and
नसुकिला' these days ?
all countries have their share of द्वन्द between सुकिला and मैला वर्ग....
but not all countries have to fight a bloody civil war to resolve such
issues....
but in Nepal, with the encouragement of a certain class of pseudo
intellectuals, the maoists continue to feel that the best theing that ever
happened in Nepali history was their ten year 'जनयुद्ध'.... and Devkota
and his fans are among those people who will support another bloody and
nihilistic struggle in the name of trying to win victory for the मैला over
the सुकिला....no doubt a real distinction, but one whose primarily function
in Nepal has been to create more havoc, anarchy in the name of progressive
social change, and to become a self serving vehicle for 'class warriors'
like the maoist leadership who seem far more interested in state power
rather than in establishing a workable, democratic setup wherein real
inequities might be addressed in a sustained and peaceful manner.
Devkota in this writeup is simply being a mouthpiece for Baburam Bhattarai
who recently said that the greater the chaos in Nepal the greater their
chance of capturing state power. Sounds revolutionary... तर विश्लेषण
and तर्कमा कुनै सकारात्मक सोच र तुक छैन…
