Here is something we all might be interested in.......

Lucknow:

The Indian authorities have expressed concern over Sunday’s incident when a group of Nepali Vidyarthi Parishad activists — a frontal organisation of Maoists in Nepal — damaged three pillars on the Indo-Nepal border in Shravasti and hoisted Maoist flags inside the Indian territory.

Since then, district magistrates of Shravasti and Balrampur have spoken to their Nepalese counterparts and called for prevention of such incidents in the future. They have also been asked to ensure better coordination between the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and the Nepal Police.

“The pillars will be repaired after getting permission from the government,” said Amit Gupta, District Magistrate of Shravasti. He said a report on the incident has already been sent to the state government.

The DIG of the SSB at Gorakhpur, Shome said that during a routine patrol duty on June 21, jawans had found the pillars (numbers 618, 623/2 and 625) damaged between Bhava Naka and Sonpatri border outposts.

The Maoists had also put up their flags on some trees, around 100 m inside the Indian territory, he added.

“The Nepal Police had intercepted the members of Nepali Vidyarthi Parishad, who had raided the place, but did not detain them as the Maoists were armed with sharp-edged weapons and firearms,” Shome said.
