WTF, Am I getting overly hyped info from this site? How could it be possible ! Many states do not have port of entry. They have to land on some other states specially if they are from Mid West. You guys heard anything about this? Looks like H1B is going to be the most cursed visa in US. Wish there was a separate visa for the people who studied in US. What you guys think about the future of H1B visa? Will it pain or ease next year? --- H1B holders deported Hundreds of H1B holders were deported from the US as their port of entry was different from their designated work places. So if a H1B visa holder lands up in Newark and his work place is Philadelphia then he would be deported. Many H1B Visa holders did not know this and committed the grave mistake of landing at a convenient port, they only realized latter that the rules have changed and they need to go back home.
All this came as a huge surprise to many of these newbie’s who were caught unawares. The US is doing everything possible to restrict Indian workers so that many jobs in the American market could be grabbed by the Americans only. Indeed the American dream is coming to an end!

Is this for the H1B coming to the US for the first time or for returning visa holder too? Where they land is based on their personal choice I guess. I hope Nepali brothers and sisters don't get into problem.

I don't believe this: deporting for different POE than job location. There have to be some reason which these indian news channels are not revealing. There are legitimate news of deporting H1B holders from POE due to suspicion on their jobs, after inquiring to clients and other issues.

I recently came back from Nepal and my port of entry was in west coast while i work in east coast. However, i had heard some news regarding people on H1B status being returned back from Newark airport.
