I am 100% sure that most of you are somehow victimised by himtel.com. please let us know your story how did it happen and what alternate are you taking after that......
here is what happened to me. I used to buy $5 card from himtel.com everytime i wanted to call nepal because i thought these guys are old and safer to do business with. I never talked to nepal to the fullest of the announced minutes. The best it had done is 45% of minutes announced in the begining in my entire history. 25% of the time the whole amount runs out just trying to connect by rediling. I never had the clear voice, usually disconnects at every 5 minutes. My entire experience was so rediculous, kept up with it just because I thought they are safe for the transaction. The only good thing is I never found them fraud in my last 3 years business with them.
finally, I started thinking about alternates. I came across this tomatotel.com. I found that they have payment option using paypal, no one can easily fraud you specially when you paid via paypal. you can get the entire amount back if you file complain on the paypal within certain days as per their regulation. so I felt secure using tomatotel.com. i purchased 3, $2 rate cards, paid total 6 dollars and a surcharge of nearly 20 cents. 1, $2 card gave me 18 minutes of very clear A+ on voice, A+ on connection, no minutes deduction on rediling and full minutes that was announced at the begining. I usually call 3 times a month back home to parents. now $6 is giving me 3 cards of 18 minutes each. So i decided to talk for 18 minutes three times a month back home with parents. now my monthly spending in calling card is 6 dollar 20 cents a month, Vs $25 a month when i was using himtel.com. The coolest thing in tomatotel.com i found is, you can buy $1 card and have a quick talk with parents for clear 12 minutes! so far I am very much satisfied with my alternate. lets see what are they going to do in future.
guys, im not here for any business promotion or anything like that......i am just a victim of nepali sucker like himtel.com, living in US. I want to know if im the only one or there are many nepali people already victimised by them.
please let us know the best calling card you guys are using so we can also save money and enjoy the clear connection.

Me too a victim of this crappy Himtel.com. I still have like $12.00 left in my himtel account. Once it's over, i'll never ever touch this shitty himtel again. I had been a loyal user since last 1 year and now i am fed up. No himtel again. Need to find alternate.

hello977 has shytti connection and more than half of the time it does not even work. minutes promised is not what you'll get. talktonepal is same. the best one i have found so far is raza.com . i hate to give business to indians but i have no choice. Nepali cards seem good for few weeks then they stop working and they don't even care to fix it. the rates i have found in raza is the cheapest and i got sixty four minutes for just opening a account.

you will get a refund from Himtel if you don't like them, just call them and ask them for a refund. I did that last week and got all my money back. If you use pinless service of himtel you'll never lose your money redialing or reconnecting..I used himtel for 2 yrs ... always used pinless ..voice quality is not as good as rebtel but it's ok and it's cheaper...recently, for some reason, 011 dialing code is not working and you have to dial 555 through himtel which is little more expensive .. that's why I asked them for a refund and got it....I'm using rebtel now but I enjoyed himtel and will use it again when this 011 thing starts working

hello abcdef,
you are a lucky guy since you got refund from them. I called them many times regarding the issue, they said, "alright we cannot do anything for the card that you've already used up but we will certainly add minutes on your next purchase". Hoping that they are going to add minutes on my next purchase, I kept shopping card from their website. nothing happened, so again i called them and explained the situation, "sorry for not taking care of you this time but we will definitely add minutes on your next purchase" is what they replied, noting my name down. I purchased another card and checked if i am really going to get all those previously lost minutes...but again nothing. I asked them for refund, but they again said we are going to add minutes in the next purchase.
man, I am here sharing with you guys all my bad moments with himtel because i was sucked up very badly.

If you are abreast with the news from back home the Nepal Government has taken strict measures to block all VOIP terminated calls. Therefore lower rates cards (i.e. voip calls) will have connection issues while placing calls to Nepal.
Please be advised that rates to call Nepal have increased
Himtel resells STI company manufactured cards hence we are not authorized to their system to adjust minutes lost without proper connection. Therefore all issues related with their calling cards are channeled to their professional Customer Support Department at 1 800 671 6632. Himtel will help you replace or refund unused PINs but partially activated PINs should be approached to the respective customer support of the calling card.
We at Himtel strive to provide calling cards at a lower rate with good connection. If you have been using the Himtel Premium card manufactured by Himtel Inc. and do not wish to use it at the increased rate please call our Customer Support Department at 1 800 543 6540 to claim refund for the unused balance remaining.
The current rate of Himtel Premium card is 16 cents per minute to all over Nepal with a crystal clear connection. The dialing procedure remains the same.

I thought let also try this one..... amazingly there was no lose of any minutes........clear sound and connection. Now, I have been using himtel's rechargeable phone card 'Himtel Premium' since past one year, I never lost any minutes in this card...... love it.....

It's been a while I am trying to call Nepal and got couple different calling cards and most of them ended going to ZERO value but couple times I was able to connect small town but not Kathmandu. I think it has something to do with the NTC, which is blocking most calling card calls and we seeing these problems. It is not only Himtal card has problems but rest other calling cards facing the same problem.
This is my personal opinion as I am having trouble to call Kathmandu.

I started using himtel since 2000. I had very good experience with himtel. Later on Himtel raised the price and stopped selling himtel card. I tryied several other card, everytime I call home, it always makes me angry because of no connection, bad connection, charge on card even dialing, charge on not using, change in the fair etc.
I started again Himtel when they started Himtel Premium. My experience is still better compare to other cards in the market. I did not have any problem with their customer service, and I get notice if there is any problem in the system as a whole. But unfortunately, they raised the price again for Himtel Premium. I thought when more nepalese start calling, the price will go down. I am now again trying other card and have not found the right one yet. Hope Himtel will update the reduced price and better service. I think Him Tel can still win customers.
