Mine is like 5 years old.

Features:
-Faded alphabets on the keyboard
-Cracks everywhere.
-Hand stains.
- Battery does not last for more than half an hour.

My Dell Inspiron 6400 (1.7x GHz, 2GB RAM) running in 5th year now. Changed 2 Batteries, 2 HDD (org 80 GB, crashed).
However,  runs fine now.

I feel that Dell (or Toshiba) is better than HP. What u guys feel?

I would have to say that Dell has very good customer service relative to other brands.

I was wondering what Laptop would be best for Nepal with long hours of load shedding?

Still working on 2004 Desktop, does not accept more than 256 memory, reformatted couple times.   Old computer needs to be cleaned the registry scan which makes the computer crash and slow ( and low memory). Still working fine for web surfing.

Took old laptop to Nepal on each visit. Lenovo with 3 gb memory 250 hd is working good since June 2010, downloaded free Norton Security System, advance system care and Security Essentials. Run once in a week to clean the registry. Working just fine.

Wow U guys laptopp last almost 5yrs ..... Mine was long last is 1 yts most I had problem with screen I always crack ^the screen. ...... In 5 yts I change 3 time already ..... Now I used desktop n iPad no more laptop .....

I also really prefer desktops over laptops for gaming. But it's hard to get the desired desktop you want here in Kathmandu.

 Just sold my 2 and half year old laptop...  looking to buy a new one ... no laptop for now... using desktop !

5 yr old. Takes forever to start.

 i have sony vaio for 6 yrs running perfectly fine like new... until a week ago decided to bid farewell.... m going for vaio again...

२००५ मा HP लेको थिए। २००८ तिर बिग्रियो। Staples मा जचाउँन गाको, motherboard गयो रे! अनि २००८ को अन्तिम तिर Costco मा तरकारी किन्न गाको बेलामा किनेको HP चाइँ अहिले सम्म नि चलेको छ। 

Slow?
RAM not enough to support operating system.
Clean the Registry ( get free advance care system).
Trash out unwanted softwares.
Take pitures off from the computer
Too many programs on start up take the computer to start longer time.
Get free Norton Secury system, it has registry scan too.

Macbook Pro 13"

• OS: Mac OS X v10.6.6
• Processor: 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
• Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
• Purchased on: December 2009 for little over $1500.
• Problem(s): Had to replace magsafe power cable.  It was not charging the battery as it should.  Apple store's genius bar (hardy-har-har) replaced it for free even though the one year warranty was over.
• Battery life: with continuous light use - mostly surfing the web - the fully charged battery lasts for 4 to 5 hours.
• Remarks: This was my first Apple product.  I was skeptical at first.  Why pay the premium for yet another laptop.  But now I know why Apple fans are so diehard.  I will not go back to using PC unless I really have to.  Apple is just incomparable, just that good.

I also have Intel core i3 PC desktop with Windows 7 that I hardly use.

Recently, I have been using iPad2 to play games and read news/sites.   But I still use Mac to do productive work.
