Hello friends,
I have found many threads circling around sajha with list of colleges and universities that offer instate tuition to international students. I think there are many colleges who offer instate tuition. I am trying to make a list of all the universities that offer instate tuition. I will start with the list of some that I know.
Please reply this tread w/ the colleges you know offer instate tuition and I will add to the list, which I think wll help many new students as wel as current students who are considering a transfer.
1) St cloud state University, MN
2) Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall MN
3) Minnesota State University, Mankato MN
4) Minnesota State University Moorhead MN
5) Newman university KS ( unconfirmed)
6)Georgia Southern University GA
7) University of Wisconsin, Stout WI
8) New Mexico State University NM
9) Southern Arkansas University AR
10) New Mexico Highland University NM (new students may not get instate right away but very affordable $2880 for 18 credits)
11) University of texas Arlington (3.5 GPA required)
12) University Houston (3.5 GPA required)
13) LAMAR UNIVERSITY , BEAUMONT, TX
14) East Central Oklahoma University, Ada, Ok: 2.0 gpa= $2800/semester

Texas A&M University System plus University of Texas System schools offer In-State Tuition if you get 1000$ per year competitive scholarships or 20 hrs on-campus employment respectively. But, the scholarship is hard to continue unless your are above 35 or above every semester. The in-state tuition of especially Texas A&M at College Station and University of Texas at Austin is flat rate and is well above $6000 per semester. Rest of the schools are pretty cheap and are around $4000 per semester. There is a good nepali community at Texas A&M. If anyone wants to join Texas A&M at College Station please visit their facebook page. You can search Nepalese Student Association at Texas A&M University. Finally, when you apply at College Station please make sure that your bank statement is not FAKE. The university is very serious on this matter. They will call every bank even in your home district in Nepal.

I suggest go for community college and complete 24hr credit with more than 3.5 gpa and apply for phi theta kappa, actively participate on the programs and be a leader if you can, then you can get scholarship which is from 1000 dollars to full scholarship depending upon the university. I don't see top ranked colleges on the list above so this is the best way to get scholarship to top ranked colleges for transfer student.
