Any CFAs on here?

I'm thinking about registering for the Level I exam in December but not sure on what the proper way of going about is..

Does a CFA degree hold a great 'value' like does a CPA one? From my understanding, if you pass your CPA exams, you're almost 'guaranteed' a job...is it the same case with CFA?

Any input, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

From my understanding CFA is way too tough and narrowed to asset management. CFA is very well respected but you have to be in the industry already. I have had several bouts with the thought of appearing for CFA exam but I give up,I am trying to go for CMA.

CFA is not a degree but a Charter.
To become a charter holder you need to pass all three exams(level 1-3) and have 4 yrs of relevant work experience.
So, just passing the exams will not guarantee you job. It might  show potential employers that you are pretty serious about career in finance.
It's a huge commitment in terms of time and hard work that you need to put in. And if you do not have relevant work experience it would mean you have to wait for you can the three little letters after your name.
All in all, Footyfan CFA sounds cool.

Oh well. 'Relevant work experience' seems like quite an ask and I suppose I won't even give it a shot.

Thanks folks.

If you have less than 48 months of qualified work experience, you may be considered for affiliate membership.

I guess you can write yourname,CFA after that..:D
