You dont need to renew your visa unless you plan on traveling out of the country. Your I-20 makes your legal, not your visa.

Pandora,
In most of the cases renewing F1 visa is not a problem in Nepal. The only grey area in your case is You're still in Community College. That can be a good reason for Consular to Deny you a Visa because you're suppose to study here and finish school in normal time. 5 Years in a community college is little too much but again it depends on the Consular..
If you were in a University there should have been no problem at all.
Good Luck though.

guy_tensed, thanks for the input. Yes i know that 5 yrs in comm college is little too much but as you know being in a f1. full time college, more than full time work, bills and all, it's really difficult to keep up so i decided to took OPT and stay for a year. But i don't want to go back to Nepal to renew. Is there any other way to renew from Mexico or Canada, because i have heard some people did it. Thanks again.

Yes, Absolutely you can go to Canada or Mexico BUT Department of Homeland Security Suggests going to your HOME country for Visa Related issues..They say that because Consular in Mexico or Canada doesn't have much Idea about Nepal and sometimes they'll deny you and say "You've to go to your home country". If that happens then you can't even enter United States and you'll have to go to Nepal from Canada or Mexico and then visit US Embassy in Kathmandu. At that point, your case would look even worst because now the US Embassy in Nepal will question you why did you go to Canada or Mexico ?
Well these are just assumptions ! I hope it doesn't happen to you but in the worst case scenario that might happen.
If i were you, I would join a reputed University, study a Semester, maintain good GPA and then go to Nepal for renewing Visa. That will definitely look good and you'll have no problem at all.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion guy_tensed. That means a lot , yeah i wish i would have did that when i went to Nepal last month but i didn't because i had transferred to a good university too, but after i came back i had to move to a comm college because of the high tuition and the amount of scholarship that i didn't received. Since my visa is going to be expired this Dec, so i don't think i have any options left because fall sem will last until second week of dec and i don't think i can go now in the middle of the semester. Do you think anything can be done guy_tensed? Greatly appreciate your help brother.
