My assylum got approved last year and I applied for green card this July. I received my fingerprint date ater 2 weeks of my application but somehow I lost that paper and I had to reschedule. Its November now and I have not received finger print notice. I thought I would go to Nepal during dashain tihar when my green card comes. But all went in vain. Does anyone know why is it taking this late or anyone interested in sharing their story to enlighten me would be helpful. thanks

usually it takes longer if they have to reschedule anything as in finger prints , interview or even change in address. when it comes to immigration issue you just have to be patience and wait and perhaps not worry about dashain and tihar and celebrate it here.

Yes, indeed they will require your i797 C at the time of your biometrics. But don't worry, wait for a while if not, you can also talk to them directly. I hope you have already called them about your issue. As far as i know even for rescheduling your biometrics you still need to sent the copy of your original i797 C with your request to USCIS field office where your biometrics was scheduled. I would suggest you to call NCSC at 18003755283.

kpokhrel
dont even try to go nepal directly.once they see the arrival date stamped in your passpot when you enter the port of entry here in usa i am pretty sure that they will catch u.so better travel via india when u land in nepal through india hide your passport n use your citizenship.do the same thing when u come back too, never show your passport to nepal immigration while you fly back to india.
