Three airports - TIA, LHR and JFK - that I very recently used are in the list. I honestly did not think they were that bad as this article makes it out to be.
London LHR is quite big. If you are travelling with kids, make sure to check in the stroller at the airplane door and make doubly sure that it gets brought back at the same door when you get off the plane. They generally otherwise send it to the baggage carousle like your other checked bags. Without a stroller, carrying an infant through seemingly interminable maze of what they call airport walkways can be a torture.
New York JFK is boring, but that's about it, I think. People who work there are their usual nonchalant and not-rude but also not-friendly.
Kathmandu TIA is much better than few years ago. Yes, I read about the bribe incident that recently occurred and my heart goes out to the victims. Kudos to that Sherpa lady who brought this to light and those corrupt A-holes need to be put in jail for extended time. Having said that, my experience at TIA was quite smooth and hassle-free. The officials were polite. Even the bathroom was decent. Sure they charge Rs.160 for a can of Coke but other than that, not much to complain about.

Not sure why you guys are complaining about Delhi airport, but to me it looked pretty good. The flight indication system, PA system, Information, ticket counter service were pretty good. They also ensure that the cabbies outside don’t try to cheat you as they enforce an overall control of these services. The guards could give you some issues, I had to make them understand about something for 5 minutes but other than that it was all good. I have heard about few complaints about how somebody tried to cheat a passenger, but that tells me more about the old system and people than the airport and the latest revision. I just might be naïve. As for TIA; I think we can do a lot more to improve the dire situation of the infrastructure over there. One thing government needs to immediate address is how passengers are harassed as soon as they get out of the airport. One cabbie grabbed my luggage and put it in his trunk while my friend was waiting in his car just 50 feet away. I think TIA can learn some lessons from Delhi airport on this one. As for JFK, no complaints so far.

I remember watching some eddie murphy film about some buddha boy when i was kid. In there it depicts TIA with having cows as common thing. I hope it is not same. And about bribe thing.. I dunno what happened to the case.. Were people involved brought to justice???

The heroic and gutsy Sherpa lady who took the video of the culprits was worth praising. The person in the video in my perspective must be a low level subordinate. Everyone knows he is not behind everything. The bribe goes to all levels. I am sure ministers will get a share. The words “ethics, shame and patriotism” have been deleted. To hope for things to change is just like waiting snow to fall somewhere in the Sahara.
A few low level subordinates will be kicked out. Eventually everyone will forget about the case and the same people will be called back to work. This is what has been going on for ages. I don't expect this to change anytime soon. Wish things would change and Nepal would be a country. A real country with real people to love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
