 you know prashant, i think even those punishments wont make a person like gupta to realize what they did..they probably wont even be embarrassed and get over it pretty quick..and continue with their wrong doings..what i think is there should be pretty harsh punishments for this scale of crimes..i know punishment should fit the crime but however for a country like ours and the state that it is now..i think its pretty justified...if i were the judge i would put him in jails for his whole life..i would even have death sentences for more severe crimes..but only when the criminal was proven guilty completely with no doubts..so that no innocent people get these kind of punishments...

The reason why you do not get more reponse is you talk about "safe" topics (mostly entertainment). Pick a side and talk about real issue (religion, politics, social injustice etc). Only then you'll see a real response. Is it just me or everybody, we Nepali do not like to talk about real issuse esp in person or infornt of a camera. But I can understand, it's your age. Sorry if I sound too old.
Why is beauty pagent such a big deal to Nepali people? Miss this, Miss that, who really cares.I means you live in the USA. Miss America is one of the least watched show in the US. Most American do not care or even know about Miss America. Ask anybody on the street, the chances of them knowing the recent Miss America is next to nil.
I have no problem with such type of show but to judge someone of their intellectual standard with just a single question, it does not make sense. Agree or not, it demoralizes women when idiot like Donald Trump runs a show whether it is "Aprentice" or "Miss Universe".  FYI The Miss Universe Organization is owned by Donald Trump and the National Broadcasting Company (NBC).Somehow they have managed to make it appear like a very important global event. Surprisingly it is very popular among poor countries. Donald Trump is a ducebag and a womenizer (married multiple times) yet this right winger nut thinks his Christian values are better than mine, hence I hate this monkey haired SOB and all tthings this ape owns.
Why don't you talk about the recent news where a village women was burnt alive for being a witch, something more important tings like that. Just my suggestion. I'm sorry if I sound like an arch. However I do admire your effort and keep it up.

  Hats off to you... I think what you are doing is great it keeps people updated.. Also what you said about Fun Asia thing is true. It kinda seemed like a scam to rip people off and to get those contestants hopes high. vhotee bro... i want to touch on sensitive materials like religion.. but i thought i would wait a while before playing into peoples' beliefs.. everyone got their own i know.. but i think its time now.. i got my own beliefs and i dont think i should be scared to let it out just coz ppl might think different or radical...

What I'd recomend is the approach the stand up comedians take to convey their message. Take a look. It's the same thing with all of their material. In this PC world, you can get away making fun of yourself, your religion, your race, your country. Black make fun of blacks, Catholics make fun of themselves, White to white and Russell Peters make fun of Indians. Make sure to mention "I'm also a Newar" and throw a Newari joke or something related to Newars. This way you gain the respect of the audiance. That's a start and then you step up slowly into other people's territory. Yes, you'll get lots and lots of criticism, threats, trolls, abusive language; that is their opinion but you must remain calm at all time. Let them speak, the more the merrier. Atleast that's what happens in the US. Now multiply that by 10 for Nepali audience. Our culture is very closed, unresponsive, secluded (a bit insecured)  when it comes to people making fun of religion, caste, political ideology, sex in public (very common in private though). We get very defensive if approached with something that you do not agree that includes educated people. Hence we do not see standup comedian in Nepal who make fun of other caste. If someone dared in the past, I'm pretty sure he is dead already. Physical violence is yet another topic. Add that with no law to protect you, you're screwed. We got offended when Indians made fun of "Bahadur" jokes. Did any of our comedian couteract that joke. I'm pretty sure NOT, we got mad at the Indians instead, that's what we do always. Kill the joke with a joke, not human beings for things like "jokes".
But to make story short. You're in the US (Welcome to America kinda thing), who cares, just speak your heart out. Avoid going to Nepali parties or else some drunk will beat you up. Hahaha. I'll be the first person to thank you if you make fun of my religion & cast. Be creative. I'm pretty sure there are lots of quiet sajha visitor Nepali like me. Keep it up. Start slow. You have our support.
