hello bro iam in same situation....it was a misdeamnor i hired lawyer and pleaded not guilty and case got dismissed but i was fingerprinted.....anybody went back home and came safely by port of entry and anybody got h1b visa share your experience plz......

@man utd & dim pastra: It depends on your work and your employer. If you are employed FTE by direct company not consultancy, it shouldn't be that hard. However if you are employed by consultancy, it might take very long time and it would be very frustrating. On top of that, you have a misdemeanor so i would say, things might get hard.went to Nepal for stamping last December and believe me, it ain't easy. I got stuck for almost two months. So i would recommend you to either go to Canada or Mexico if you could.

@siren were u in same situation (misdemeanor for selling beer to minor) and u got h1 stamping after 2 months of background check?did they asked u to submit any documents?....

I was at collage when convicted ani pachi kaam garda pani ma probation mai thiye. I recently got H1 approved without no problem. they didnot ask for nothing during H1approval. I paid all my fine and I am not in probation tara kasai kasai lai Nepal jhada yehi karan la roke ko sunchu.And onemore thing that I am working fulltime not through consultancy.
I want someone to suggest me

@jangali manab: I had one of my co-workers gotten H1B extension visa stamped last week from Canada. But it all depends upon your luck as well.
@dimpastra: No, i didn't have any misdemeanor or anything on my records. I am just sharing my stamping experience.
@manutd: Since you have full time, they might not check your criminal records. However i have one friend who got stuck for a while when they found out that he had DUI. Since seems like you worked campus bahira, so you might get asked questions about it. Safe bet would be only go while you have a GC.
