 Withdrawing candidacy from ANA election!

 

Respected members, friends and family  

As we all know ANA is a non-profit organization built on the basis of supporting Nepalese and Nepal. ANA should be the center of unification of Nepalese in the United States not the center of games, politics and business.

 

To my knowledge, bringing together all the Nepalese in the United States under one single roof “legally” is what ANA should stand for.  Despite the fact of organizing one event every year, ANA lack the ability of providing true social services to its people. Recent lawsuit against the members of the ANA, fraudulent behavior, and even lack of proving itself as a legal entity for last eight years of its representation of Nepalese people in United States, has definitely changed the face of ANA. This clearly proof what ANA stands for today.

As a social worker, I believe in giving and helping people in need in every aspect that I can.  I have worked and still working as a member of Nepalese Society of Texas, Indreni Cultural Association, Dallas Everest Lions Club. These non-profit organizations are deliberately providing their services for the better of Nepalese people within the greater Texas Areas and even supporting our greater Nation Nepal under various disaster situations.

 

Because what I stands for and what I believe in, ANA does not seems to be non-profit organization established for providing services to its people, thus, I want to and declare my candidacy withdrawn from ANA organizational election 2012.

 

 

Lets walk and work together for peace and humanity.

 Please stop this sort of drivel. I'm going to ANA this year and I'll be extremely pissed off if it got cancelled.

 Im gonna go thr too but looks like there is some problem with ANA foundation these days !

 There have always been problems with ANA.

I do not give a damn about what ANA did in the past. I am going to ANA to enjoy and meet people.
May be mr. chhetri has some personal issues with the ANA organizers..

I have been saying this all along. But our Nepali Bhedas don't seem to care.  ANA as an organization is no better than those lame Political parties in Nepal.  Tyo paisa sabai kahaa gayo kasai lai thaha chaina.  Bheda haru justo Aija bhanyo bhaney gutuuutuutuu daudincha. Ke garney !!  ANA is not for Nepali people but a money making machine for a selected elite exe members.  

I agree with general consensus here.

If you don't like what ANA is doing, then just don't go. Sure you can expose any wrong doings they have done, and they have done it plenty; but to bicker the same thing over and over again is a little irritating.

I never thought that the money I was paying for registration is going to feed hungry mouths back in Nepal. I went to ANA for entertainment, not charity. I sometimes get what I want, sometimes I don't. That's life, stop bickering.

I will be there.

ANA ma election bhayo ra tapai jityo bhane ANA ko wah wah garne. Ani haryo bhane ANA lai gali garne? Teso ta hudaina hai. If you have won the election you would have been shut your mouth up and would have been thinking about how to grab some of those money for yourself.
what is the guarantee that you will win the election? hahahaa
 

Go to ANA but don't waste your money on general registration and such.

As it is, you are going there to meet old and new friends, not to enrich those corrupt parasites.  If there is a particular event you want to attend, selectively pay for those.  Don't pre-pay for food, especially momo, because it usually tends to be terrible.  Instead gather your friends and go to a nearby restaurant of your choice.

Just my opinion.

If you don't agree then don't go.  I have stopped associating myself with anything ANA ever does so I wont be going. I am not going to try and pursuade anyone to not go. If people find that it's fun and games going to these conventions then all power to them.

I am still not in agreement with the way the ANA execs handled and mismanged the orgainization and are still priding themselves over what they have done like they  deserve gorkha dakchin bahu takma.

 Bathroomcoffee, can you please get off your high horse? Just because people are participating in ANA doesn't mean everybody's going to cater to the thugs' interests. People have different motives when they decide to go to these events. 

This is the first time I'll be attending the event in 8 years that I've been here. I'm taking the event as a perfect opportunity to reunite with friends that I went to Junior High, High School and college with. Further, many athletes and sports, music lovers get to take 2-3 days off their busy schedule to indulge in activities that interest them. 

Indreni Culture Association is a family run business. 

So is Johnson & Johnson, "a family company."

Let's go to ANA. We don't care what they do with the registration money and so on. We pay, they deliver. That's it.

Yes you are right. ANA is like a corporation providing Nepalis with a corporate event. You go if you like to, you don't go if you don't want to. You pay for what you want to do. It's a free country based on capitalism. ANA is a capitalistic entity. Let's accept that and move on.
