thinking of settling down in one place now. Getting tired of moving here and there every 1-2 years. Looking for a place where i can enjoy weather, Nepali community, food and affordable housing. Was looking at Boston area, gave up after looking at the housing prices, hard to afford. Midwest too cold i guess. California too expensive.... what do you guys think ? Looking for some ideas/discussion. Thank you !

If weather is the factor nothing like Hawaii although it's super super expensive. It's not a good place to settle. I would suggest Colorado for u. Has 4 seasons beautiful in summer and u can enjoy winter sports and the beautiful places. Southern Cali is a good choice as well but if u have lives in Boston u might feel it's lill warm but it's a great place to start family w lots of nepalese and u can get affordable housing in some areas but mostly it's expensive.

Based on your preferences, I think you should consider Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina.

Frustu......At some point in your life you have to take out the best out of your circumstances! Do happiness lies in the external world out there? Most humans don't know what they really want and they keep on experimenting on external things till their whole life is wasted. It is not that you are looking a perfect place to settle! Happiness is a condition of mind and all you are trying to do is experiment with this new place if it brings this condition of mind which gives a sense of happiness. If your new place with nice weather gives you a sense of happiness and joy, it is just a momentarily joy. You cannot gain permanent joy from finite objects which is this world. Therefore, try to understand your own mind. It can be your greatest enemy as well as your greatest friend. Your mind is a battlefield; if you know how to bring peace within, you will be happy anywhere in the world. An ancient King in the Bharat Barsha once asked a Yogi, "What is the meaning of life?" The Yogi replied, "A man is born, he suffers and then he dies." You might have seen your mother or relatives back in Nepal churning cheese out of milk. This churning is an art. This same art of churning should be applied to life if you want to be happy. California is not the source of your happiness. Happiness is the condition of your mind which you can attain right now wherever you are by fixing your mind. This world will never be a better place because this world is nothing but ego and sex. This earth is Mrityu Loka, people come here to suffer. However, you can mitigate this suffering by gaining true knowledge of things around and yourself. Suffering occurs only in the state of ignorance of true state of things. Be good, do good and serve others. May you find bliss within. Om Tat Sat.
