Hello friends I have almost decided to go back to Nepal and start something there. I have still 5-6 months before I go back home. So I want to plan ahead and work out accordingly. I have couple of plans too. By the way, I have US degree and I dont worry about investment. I mean I can manage the investment that I need to start any business. I request you friends to come up with any ideas that you think will work out in Nepal. Any fields are acceptable, it does not matter for now. So please help me out with your creative ideas and plans. I will heartily appreciate your thoughts. Thank you. Regards MB

Really difficult issue, but I will mention some of ideas here which I have thought before and thinking now if I have to return back to Nepal 1) A construction company with low cost and high tech houses (seems funny as I am influenced with these housing models in USA and Europe 2) A big dishwasher and dryer in every wada (just influence with these laundry houses but make sure that we can make enough water and electricity, probably generator if needed) 3) Some type of internet business ( might be any type, not don't copy exactly Thamel.com, it is easy to copy but difficult to survive) 4) A political party ( not leftist but better than Congress) because Congress is really corrupt and we need some rightist party who is more disciplined and exactly addresses the issues like leftist, I am feeling leftist people are good and we need some party to gather good guys from leftist so that it will work inside and outside 5) Some type of business outside valley where you can work with villagers, can collect little money, just it is more patriotic idea because it will help to develop village, have some employment and you feel good because you are working to people (might be agriculture related or any other, please think yourself) These are my initial thoughts, I will be writing when I have any idea in my mind.

My Advice.. 1.

mokingbird ! I congrtulate you finally you are going back. I think Nepal need like ppl like u. I don't know if u can generate funds to establish new industry because that's what Nepal needs instead of import oriented business. Other than that you should do some kind of international business. Hope this is help ful.

http://www.nepalpoll.com.np/ntv/dishanirdesh/ I am a frequent visitor to this link. You will see lots of people doing great work there. I was especially impressed with Uttam Sangel's accomplishments. You have to be clear on what you want to do in Nepal. You need to figure our if you want to go into social businesses or into maximizing profit. If you want to go for social work with business then there are lots of ideas on the above link. If you want to go with maximization of profit concept then go with real estate, Low Cost chain (Walmart), or a low cost clothing line ( Kohl' s, TJ Max type). What i am really interested is on a construction company for Toll Roads. I know this requires a big investment and lots of big minds but who knows may be you can start one for this one. Good luck on whatever road you choose. Sid
