HI, I was going through a Chinese link and figured how they care about Nepal, Nepalese and Nepalese festival. The following links have couple of pages showing Nepal and Nepalese. The first link has the Nepalese music as a background music, u may go to second page and read chinese expression over Nepal.
I used google translate tools to read the comments.

I am pretty sure they have their own problems to take care of. Btw, does anybody happen to know if "rang" is spelled color or colour?

guys it is not that chinese think about nepal. Just before 2 days i was talking to a chinese girl and i told her if she knew about nepal, then i asked her to search on net. Then she opened this baidu.com and searched there. It is like wikipedia or something like that hugely popular in china. So, don't feel that chinese think about nepal. Everyone thinks about themselves and if china thinks about nepal it is to counter-balance india.

The only country besides China that the Chinese people care to take some interest in is the US. The rest don't matter at all for them. As an exception, maybe, they still have some hatred left for the Japanese. That said, the government, however is trying to reach out to the world. Trying to propagate their side of the world story. International coverage in their media is pretty extensive, just see http://nepal.cri.cn/

Of course they care. They've just given Nepal billions of Rs as soft loan (at a rate less than the central bank's interest rate) to invest in Hydroelectri plants apart from billions in Aid and Grants for other projects. They have made several highways in Nepal. Regarding Chinese students using Baidu to search Nepal, its not necessary that all 1.3 billion would know about Nepal as Nepal is not among the best or wost countries in the world or a country that has achieved something spectacular in the world that everyone should know about it. I have lots of Chinese friends who know quite a lot about Nepal. Wonder if jhapaliketo knows a country called Vantau, etc. Even I don't know all the 10+ countries that China share the border with. All Nepal should care is whether Chinese government is interested in development of Nepal or not. Just because every Chinese knows Afganisthan does not mean that Chinese government care about them. China has cancelled import tax on several Nepali exports recently. Not only Nepal, China is renowned in Africa as the country helping to develop African countries by giving them access to trade rather than aid as of many Western Countries do (of course after these Western Multinational making them poor by stealing all their resources and helping fuel corruption and war there) and also building infrastructure to help the trade. Please remember that China has not got much to lose by helping Nepal develop. In fact it will help them indirectly by increasing trade between the two countries should Nepal develop. If you look at the history of production and export of China, it started with lots of wealthy Japanese companies outsourcing from China which in turn is helping to stabilise Japan's own economy at the moment. Who knows, Nepal might become another power superhouse supplying most of the energy needs in China and in turn becoming one of the richest countries in the world unless of course our corrupted bastard politician does not let it happen because of their own self interest.

Let us start with this.... How many Chinese movies have you seen in your life compared to Indian? You get what you choose. Who the F are we? They have beter things to do, they're exploring every part of the world to feed their people and make their life better. We often get confused with India becoming stronger these days and forget about our other neighbor. Remind you, the standard of living in China for an average people is STILL four times better than that of India. Here you thought they were Chinky, Kung-Fu master monkeys with funny language (Chin-Chong, that is how we made fun of then). It is only after you leave Nepal and see everything in the world is "Made In China", then you realise....WOW...Chinese are powerful, Man. We never put any interest or an effort in them, why should they now? In any case, we enjoy being raped by the Indian, in the name of shared religion and culture. Now go back to usual Z-TV programs and enjoy Girija kissing Indian ass in Delhi.

Of course Shivaram. There has been more than 110% rise in number of Chinese tourists this month in Nepal. Hope this trend continues. We can woo Chinese into coming to Nepal by promoting Birthplace of Gautam Buddha. Chinese are tight on money but if we can entice substantial number then the amount they spend won't matter much.

Both Chinese and Indians care a lot. Chinese seem to focus on impacting the lives of ordinary citizens by assisting with roads, dams, and education whereas Indians help Girija Prasad, Yadav, Makune, and Prachanda to stay in power in an exchane of Neplese soverinity or natural resource. Sid
