The deceased identified as Surendra Dangol, 40, of Sankhu, Kathmandu, was shot by a criminal at a local food store in Jamaica Plain, where he was working as an employee.
Dangol had started working at the store, owned by a Pakistani citizen, a week ago, the website reported.
His body has been kept at a local hospital for investigation which will take three days, the site quoted the local police.
Dangol is survived by his wife and a 9-year-old daughter, who are living in Nepal.
