Do we need to submit the general IELTS Score, Police Report and other documents all at the same time? Do we need police reports from Nepal as well as from all states of US that we resided in past for more than 6 months? It seems like it will take more than 2 months just to gather all the required documents before applying. Any suggestions please?

Lot of people ask lot of questions about Canadian immigrations.. but problem is.. people don't spend enough time reading proper guide.. a beautiful, well-explained guide. Which is so easily available on internet: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/EG7.pdf Everything is clearly outlined in this guide. Then you download all the required forms from: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled.aspThen, there is one more thing people need to be careful about - Visa-Office Specific Forms (this is where you can get info on what additional documents you are required to submit based on which visa-office you are applying to. This also tells you about getting Police Clearance Certificates - there is a "Web" link given in the document checklist. If you go to that website, they have exactly mentioned where to contact at each country from where you are required to obtain police clearance certificates. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/skilled-mission.aspAnyways, here is the link for Police Clearance Certificates: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/index.aspEnglish Proficiency:You don't have to have IELTS if you have studied in English medium and your work experience letter clearly mentions that your work environment were in English Medium. So if you have degree from USA... you don't need IELTS or TOEFL. But remember, if you have high scoring in IELTS in all four sections (reading, writing, speaking and listenening) as mentioned in the guide, then it's 100% certainty that you will get 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 16 point in Language Factor. Otherwise, it's at their discretion!!!! Thumb of rule is, if you have accumulated enough points in other Factors and only few points from Language Factor will be adequate to exceed the pass mark of 67 points comfortably.. then don't take IELTS. GOOD LUCK !!

Oh, your main question's answer is here: Yes, make sure you collect all documents they asked for (see the document checklist from Visa-Office Specific guide), and make it a ONE SHOT application. Otherwise, the processing will be jhanjhat for them and for you as well. Until you have all the required documents gathered, don't apply. MOST IMPORTANTLY, if you are applying in CATEGORY 1 (Federal Skilled Worker) - Make Sure you are in an occupation which corresponds to the list of occupations identified in the Ministerial Instructions and have evidence of one year of continuous full-time (or full-time equivalent) experience in that occupation. Instructions have been established by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Canada. These instructions are based on input from the public, business, labour and non-governmental organizations, and allow Canada to better respond to labour market needs. To consult the list of occupations, refer to our website at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.aspHere is these 38 high-demand occupations, yours must be one of them.. o therwise forget about applying!!!!!!! Instructions on which skilled worker applications are eligible for processing Under changes to the Immigration and Refu gee Protection Act, federal skilled worker applications are assessed for eligibility according to the eligibility criteria listed below. Note: This does not apply to applicants intending to live in the province of Quebec. These criteria affect you only if you applied on or after February 27, 2008. If you applied before February 27, 2008, your application will be processed according to the rules that were in effect at that time. Is my application eligible for processing? In order for your application to be eligible for processing, you must either: - have an offer of arranged employment, OR
- be a foreign national living legally
in Canada for one year as a temporary foreign worker or an international student, OR - be a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience in one
or more of the following occupations: 0111: Financial Managers 0213: Computer and Information Systems Managers 0311: Managers in Health Care 0631: Restaurant and Food Service Managers 0632: Accommodation Service Managers 0711: Construction Managers 1111: Financial Auditors and Accountants 2113: Geologists, Geochemists and Geophysicists 2143: Mining Engineers 2144: Geological Engineers 2145: Petroleum Engineers 3111: Specialist Physicians 3112: General Practitioners and Family Physicians 3141: Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists 3143: Occupational Therapists 3142: Physiotherapists 3151: Head Nurses and Supervisors 3152: Registered Nurses 3215: Medical Radiation Technologists 3233: Licensed Practical Nurses 4121: University Professors 4131: College and Other Vocational Instructors 6241: Chefs 6242: Cooks 7213: Contractors and Supervisors, Pipefitting Trades 7215: Contractors and Supervisors, Carpentry Trades 7217: Contractors and Supervisors, Heavy Construction Equipment Crews 7241: Electricians (Except Industrial and Power System) 7242: Industrial Electricians 7251: Plumbers 7252: Steamfitters, Pipe fitters and Sprinkler System Installers 7265: Welders and Related Machine Operators 7312: Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics 7371: Crane Operators 7372: Drillers and Blasters – Surface Mining, Quarrying and Construction 8221: Supervisors, Mining and Quarrying 8222: Supervisors, Oil and Gas Drilling and Service 9212: Supervisors, Petroleum, Gas and Chemical Processing and Utilities NOTE: the occupations above are all Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification list.

Hi nepal1 2 3 4: Go through the 38 high-demand occupations.. do you fall under any one of them? Check the NOC Code (4-digit). You must be able to claim minimum of 1 year experience in any one of these 38 occupations, else you are not eligible to apply. You can further understand what are the type of job titles included in each of these codes. Go to this site and know about the 4-digit code, its job titles and duties etc. http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Welcome.aspx Use the QUICK Search at the left side.

Hi All, Seems like you guys know a lot about Canadian immigration, I felt like dropping few of my confusion. I'm planning to apply for Canadian PR through AINP program. I'm in H1B status. I just got married few years back and my wife is out of status currently since last 7 years. Browsing through the IME008 forms, I found I need to fill up her status too. How will this affect the whole process? Have anyone gone through same situation ? Any suggestions? I've found some of the forums bragging that they are almost sure my spouse status does not affect the whole process. Is it true? Thanks

It's not quite clear what you are talking about? You mean you got married to a girl who was out of status (for past 7 years). You married her 2-3 years ago.. which mean you got married to her while she was still out of status? Is she nepali? When you fill up the forms you can still pretend that she is now living in her native country (not USA).. can't you? And let the processing of PR application take its course... how about that?

Selling liquor to minor is not an criminal offense.... for an asian guy like you and me it's hard to guess the age of the customer.. so it's quite understandable that you didn't ask for the ID before selling liquor to that chump. You paid fine and that's done.. it's one time happening.. don't worry about it. This is something like you getting traffic tickets for speeding.. ha ha... You don't have to mention in the PR application form about this incident at all.. be assured !! (P.S. I am not a lawyer)

Thanks Ved555 for your response! You exactly understood my situation! However, I have two concern if I follow your suggestion. If they ask for Bibaha Praman etc. I can't even show them because hamro bihe yetai bhayeko thiyo! Baru maile ke sochdaichhu bhane ahile eklo bhanera lekhne bhaye pachhi uslai afno des ma gayera bihe gareko jasto dekhaune! But only one thing I wanted to know is that if this really is not going to be problem for Canadian Immigration, I don't want to lie. If everything goes fine, I don't even want to come back to US. I have been through lot of shit already! I was kind of researching few forums which says If she entered legally in US ( which she did), Canadian immigration does not care about that. http://www.trackitt.com/discussion-forums/federal-skilled-workers/267267429/ However, I just wanted to find some people who went through same situation and got Canadian's PR successfully! Thanks

I think, If they doubt about your paper, only then they will call you for interview. Otherwise, if you submit with strong documents you don't have to give the in person interview.

Instinct: It's up to you to take a chance.. or else.. you can avoid possible hassles simply by pretending that your wife currently is living in Nepal. Your marriage certificate is from USA.. fine.. but then you can say your wife went back to Nepal.... I imagine that since she is out of status for last 7 years, she must have new nepali passport.. so simply send photocopies of first few pages of that passport. AINP program is still ON... google AINP !! adjusting to Alberta... are you kidding? you don't want to live in NEpal.. does it make any differnece where you live since you have to apply for Canadian PR because USA is screwing these days !! You have no choice bro... don't worry.. human beings can adjust to any new environment.. believe me.. if Zambia is the prosperous country would you attempt to immigrate there? ha ha.. think positively..!!!

Hi Ved555, Thanks a lot for your suggestion! I'm just researching on pros and cons! <<adjusting to Alberta... are you kidding? you don't want to live in NEpal.. does it make any differnece where you live since you have to apply for Canadian PR because USA is screwing these days !!>> Probably you are both right and wrong. The reason is I'm aware of hard work no matter where I go and of course get to know some prejudiced people in foreign land! That's the rule of whole world! However, here my concern is freedom of mobility! If I get the PR in Canada, we can go to meet our friends and families and come back to make money! In the current situation, I don't want to go back to Nepal for good since I still have a hope that I can do better here! Of course, my final destination will be Nepal when I die after decades if nothing fatal happens to me till then! haha! Please, don't feel that I'm mad at you! Not at all! I'm just writing my feelings! What would you choose if you had to choose between a good paying job with a bit of hope and Chaos? Where would you like to raise your kids? Anyways, I'm not trying to disrespect your views; this view entirely belongs to me! Thanks
