This is one of few such anonymous post from CNN:
"Glad...pushpa basnet is cnn heroes 2012. She certainly deserves it. Other nominees too. But why the heck, people comments, proud to be Nepali. Be proud for what she and others do which so called proud to be Nepali can't do it"

So, lots of Nepalese children are in prision. So does that mean I am ashmed to be Nepali? In some way, Yes.
Pushpa won CNN hero. Does that mean I am proud to be Nepali? In one way yes. But it sounds little misunderstood when we write proud to be Nepali everywhere in facebook, twitter, forums, etc and people/folks/friends here knew one more dark truth about Nepalese children back home and Nepalese here being proud to be Nepali. May be writing more than just, congratulations and proud to be Nepali is better when you post, I think.

I watched her interview with Vijay Kumar few years ago. At that time, I made a small contribution to assist in her work via www.growingbeyondbars.org. So glad that she got a huge back support now. I hope that she also takes care of the street kids and orphans who need help in Kathmandu.

Someone posted this in CNN comments:

I know one guy who is from Nepal but acts like he doesn't know any Nepalese people in the US. Actually his wife is also from Nepal and she told me once that when they have a party at home, more than 20 Nepalese guests arrive.
I think he feels shameful to see other Nepalese with him. This guy's name is Rakesh Dangol, and he's from Sunnyvale, California. Lets see how many nepalese know him lol.

Why you gotta be like that Mr. Dangol? Are you one of those who keeps on bragging about how he does not hang out with other Nepalese?  LMAO...

Great people talk about ideas, Average people talk about things, Small people talk about other people.

People are here congratulating a great cause and you are dragging somebody's name here in Sajha? Why is it your problem that the said person acts as such, and why should the whole world know about it?

Grow up.

At the tender age of 20 when most girls of her age are attracted towards fashion and boys, her mind was somewhere else.
During the highten time of maoist insurgency when most people of her age wanted to get out of Nepal to go to land of opportunity to get 24/7 electricity and water (unsure of labor jobs), she stayed there.
Will is more powerful than education. She earned what nobody of her age could earn - both money and fame.

Lets hope our country's name will be out of such competion in future and be self sufficient. The girl like Puspa do not have to sacrifice her life.

Nepal again proved that we are the biggest KEYBOARD WARRIOR in the world when it comes to online voting.

I agree with Khaire's post:

This is the win for the humanity and when one stresses about the win of the country or the clan its just cheap.

That is why the anchor Anderson Cooper did not say she is from Nepal, she is from Kathmandu. Did anybody hear that? Looks like he is ashamed to take our country's name twice for CNN in 3 years period. Now if more from Nepal start getting, it will be titled CNN-Nepal hero.

This year i thought Rajia Jan of Afganistan will win. May be Afganistanis are unaware of CNN. Besides all other challenges, she has a death threat.

America creats Osama to control Afganistan
America creates 911 to destroy Osama to control Afganistan.
People like Rajia Jaan and many more emerge to heal Osama and Americas destruction of mankind.
America awards those people back with Peace Prize, Chase giving, CNN heros, etc. The cycle continues.
