@mismas, The client will definitely expect a lot with 7 years of experience in the resume. People have done it and survied, it totally depends how you approach at client side. I do not have 7 years experience not in resume and not in real world. My suggesstion, try to find a job like an intern if possible. That is how I started and now I am a full time employee with the same company for over 2 years. I do not know your education background, for me it was little easy because I did my master's in Database Systems focusing on SQl Server. Good Luck!!
Let me know if you need any help regarding SQL Server.

As my user name suggest, I'm a DW/BI developer with around 8 yrs of experience and I'm still learning. So, take a wild guess!!
You can enter BI field with 2-3 yrs of experience.
Good luck.

Here's my take on this bro:
If you can find a company where they're just implementing BI projects. I think you'll do well since you already have some exposure to it.
But, if you join a company where they already have BI team(s),it will be little hard for you because in BI field, after 5-7 yrs of experience, you'll be considered as senior or project lead.
After 10 yrs of experience you can apply for a Director level.
If you have a good programming background on .net, it's a plus.

Pick up something else also that complements the field besides (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS).
SharePoint (PerformancePoint)
R (Freee open source tool for DM/Statistical plotting and Advanced analytics)
SAS
Java
Hadoop
Map-Reduce
C#
etc..etc.....
That way, you'll always stand tall among other candidates.
Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. They expect a lot in candidates with experienc in pretty much every thing:). The job requirements are just ridiculous at times.
