Hi friends,
I need a little input . I have an associates degree and I recently got work permit based on I 485.  I want to  join IT consultancy for training. How hard it is to enter the IT job market with just an associates degree?

Not hard if you know what you are doing and love working with codes.Goodluck. I know some people who enter into IT field just for money ajust for money and not enjoying at all. For them every working day is like living in hell.

Thanks Sajhamitra,
I have taken few programming class and i loved it. Actually i am planning to do Bachelors in Computer Science but since i have my WP now, i was thinking to start career and take about 6 credits  every semester. In that way i can earn some buck too. My only concern is if i will be able to get a job with just associates degree after my IT training.

Go get your Bachelor's degree (at the very least). You already have a Greencard. Essentially, you've got your paperwork, finances and all other hindrances taken care of.

Money will come. Why'd you wanna get into IT career by faking your educational background? What are you going to do if you got offered a full-time job or got promoted?

Thanks for your thoughts Riddle,
I do understand that sooner or later i will need my degree. But at the current time i am so broke that i want to join IT field and make some money. Meanwhile, i can take 6 credits every semester, and  take study & IT job side by side. So, in few years i will have made some money as well as degree on my hand.

Unless you're a prodigy of some kind, how on earth will you be able to work in an IT sector while taking 6 credits? Don't worry about money. Take loans. Apply to state schools. Apply to schools that offer in-state tuition. Study now, man. Once you start working, your mindset will most likely change.
