Hi, I highly recommended to join http://www.computertrainingsonline.com/courses/java-online-training/ for learning java, they do provide placement assistance after completion of the course. One of the special feature is Pay once your eligible for life time access.

The scope in java is unlimited. But you need to be really good in it. It is a vast language, the framework of java and the number of framework in java is compared to .net could even have more then .net. So if you dont have any programming knowledge Java could be tough. Training given by consultancies are very little its for people who know java and the basic all they do is teach you the different type of framework and how real work is like. there are many online courses offered too and yes consultancies offer online course too like a good one is H2K infosys i guess you have heard...but they charge you for training and they charge you for placements too. call these computechcareers.com and see what they say.
