My friend had been in states for 4 years out of status( came as b1 visa)... Is there going to be any issues to renew or change his hand written passport to mrp?
Each and everything comments Is appreciated..

1. What is the relationship between being out of status and getting the passport renewed? Nothing. Therefore he/she shouldn't be worried about status while applying for MRP. But what I would definitely do is make enough copies of the the passport photo page and visa page which he/she may require for applying for any future immigration benefits in case the passport is mishandled by Embassy and got lost or so. And make sure u take that I-94 off the passport which is usually stapled to the passport for most people. Gud luck
