There is a way to bypass iCloud and get to the home screen (look into Youtube). However you can't use the apps except a few, and FaceTime is one of them. The previous owner may have FaceTime logged in. That way you can know his/her email address. After you find out the owner's email address, just email him/her requesting to remove that iPhone from his iCloud account. You need to turn your phone off while the owner is actually doing. Chances are very slim because first you need to know the owner's email, second the owner should be willing to do. Its tough but you can give it a shot.Good luck!
