I had a small inquiry to make for my MRP and thought Nepalese embassy would be helpful. I called the embassy and a guy or girl not sure picked up the phone. I started by saying "Hello namaste ..." and I continued in Nepali thinking that the guy /girl was nepali. After saying all my problem, he said "Please hold" and transferred to some other extension where nobody picked up the phone. He could have asked me to talk in English because he don't understand me or he could have said he is ashamed of speaking in Nepali . I tried to reach all the extensions provided but nothing work, very frustrated with this. so I thought after reading this, they will be polite or at least pick up the phone. my simple question was to find the citizenship number . In my citizenship number there are four numbers and underline and another four number below it, should I write all of them with the underline or just first four numbers ? The number was like this 1234/5678 , so which one is correct ? I know sajha would be more helpful than our Nepalese embassy, am I right guys ?

Sorry to hear that. Try emailing them. They responded my email very quickly. Nepal needs better education system for all so that we can become more advanced in future. However, we are more entangled in stupid ethnic riots. Hopefully, this changes.

The woman who answered your phone was probably Filipina or Tibetan, I think (she's Asian). I was pretty surprised myself when I went to pick my passport 2 years ago. And you can't seriously expect a world class customer service off a Nepali embassy that's severely understaffed in all honesty.

@ allukojhol, masuko jhol khau ani Nepali Embassy le reply garla. I guess 1234/4567, are your "Citizenship Number" on top and "Year it was given to you" does the below number match with the year you got your citizenship card. If not, write same as it is, and you need to send the original citizenship card too, to renew Passport.

When ever you call them, ask their name, if you think they are not providing a good customer service, you can call Lalu Prasad pandit, he is the man with guts, he will pull that employee back to Nepal after a few complains,

Ujl : Thanks , I asked one of my friend and he says to put all the numbers, so I guess I will do that, Yes I agree you in other parts Sherlock : Really ...? so they are hiring non nepali because they they can hire other people cheaper or what ..? may be the attitude of Nepalese in bureaucracy !! Yes I was wrong to expect something from them, but while I was blabbering like 2 minutes in nepali , he could have stopped me right there, my precious polite nepali words just gone for nothing ;-) Sajhamitra : thanks for the info bro but I didn't have patience to contact Nepal and wait for their respond in email, and I like to spit my frustration in sajha, and I am feeling better now Problemsolver : I guess you solved my problem, aaluko jhol khada khada dimag kharab, so today I am gonna make some masu ko jhol. and no the number on the bottom was 8564 which dont match any year :-( and I wrote everything on it, thanks though magorkhe : nice story, it makes sense, I think I was overreacting, but hey its not my fault :-) only thukka : he/she just transferred me to the other number, didn't have time to ask their name, and from other time, no one picked up the phone, by the way what's the numerb of lalu prasad, or i can send this link to his email lol. And what if that employee is Filipina or tibetan like sherlock told, will they still pull them back to nepal, just wondering
