I think Kamal Thapa is going to gain some popularity with his current role resulting in increased fan base. These days persons/issues get social/media hype in unnatural proportion. If people are amazed by how he responded impromptu to India's allegations, it is not matter of command of speech and language. There are always people (from MoFA and Diplomatic Mission) beside him/her who can help by writing notes. I have seen/known some ministers conducting the governing council meeting of a regional forum with the total help of his aide, a joint secretary in his ministry. The important thing is government policy. If you remember Praksah Man's speech during UN General Convention in NY he also made some attempt to internationalize the issue. He made a mention of "rights of landlocked country without any hindrance". And, i agree with a former foreign minister that the situation was not ripen yet. It has passed many weeks since then, and still no improvement in situation. Which means no alternative other than to take it to international forum. And, i also support what Dr. Surya Subedi, professor of international law in UK, was saying in BBC radio the other day. According to him if we start preparing a case against India based in rights given by GATT and "the treaty on rights of landlocked countries", there can be a visible change in India's action. Just letting international community know that we are working a case will be a credible threat to India, we may not even need to lodge a case.

Good point nepali laure, but regardless Kamal thapa is a good speaker and he gets his word out we have seen many times and he is much better then most of the crapy's so called netas and sansad. Regarding something can be done no matter how hard we try but don't forget power and money always wins in this world. We have seen many times and even current situation with Russia (Syria) nobody can do anything about it and also China with south china sea if this was some other countries could have been very different story. just a thoughts

Kudos. Although it did sound weird when he said, "It has been said that 45 people have died since promulgation. That is not true. That unfortunate event happened before promulgation." I know the point he is making that promulgation didn't cause those deaths as you are accusing us; but it almost sounds like I didn't kill him after he had his lunch, I killed him before he ate.
