Hi, I got G.C. last month on EB2. I am planning for 2 months unpaid leave. If I join my sponsor in third month, will it count as 3 months of work with my G.C. sponsor or just 2nd month? Any ideas???

There is no specific on this. I believe this is just completely a rumours. But yes during your citizenship process, (its for alll), how you got GC, base of GC will be checked.

There is no hard limit about having to stay with the sponsoring employer for certain amount of months/years. If there were hard limit, why would USCIS allow to transfer the job while your I-485 is pending for more than 6 months? Most of the folks from India/China use this feature (portability). The only thing USCIS is concerned about is the "intent" to stay with the sponsoring company while your company filed the green card application. You should have a good intent to stay with the sponsoring employer, but USCIS knows well that circumstances change. Let's say you filed your GC as a Software Engineer, and if you change your job the next day after you received your green card to flip a burger in Florida, then yes USCIS can question your "intent". But if you change your job to the similar field, then it doesn't matter when you change your job. This is a free country. To be on the safe side, people usually stick with the sponsoring employer for a month or so, but I highly doubt it is required.
