Hi Friends, I did Bachelors in Dentistry in Nepal. I have 2 years of experience working as a Dentist in Nepal. I was wondering if I have to come to America and practice Dentistry and work what is the process. Do I have to study in U.S. to practice dentistry? If I do how much tuition fee or what would be the total cost of study? Can someone explain me the process? I would really appreciate. Thank You.

As far as my understanding Practice as a Dentist/Pharmacist is not easy path for international graduate in USA. I think at least you need to do MD 2/3 yrs after Nepali BDS (its super expensive and not sure about scholarship opportunity) . Just google it find dental school in USA and try to find international applicant requirements... good luck

Like others said, you have to go theough two levels of national board of dental exam. After passing those exams, you have to attend college to study 2 year DDS mandatory for Foreign Dental Graduates. Then get the dental license to practice dentistry.

Also be aware that doctors are the second most sued (in court) people in USA. America is a complex country! Think twice before coming here !!

Don't want to discourage you but getting into dds/dmd is very tough.. Keep in mind you will have to compete with international experienced / post graduate dentist .. Nbde 1, nbde 2, high toefl score, college bench exam ,interview ,personal statement etc are common reqs...tution depends.. upon colleges .. 2 hundred thousand $$$$ .. Prepare well and good luck ..it's tough but not impossible ..

As long as you work professionally , you are fine. Even something goes wrong , Insurance will cover it. No need to be discouraged.
