Dear Sajha Community, I chose not to renew my TPS as I am going home in few months to get my H1B visa and owing to family emergency as well. Is there anything I need to be aware of or worry about with regards to H1b? Will my TPS application followed by non-renewal affect my H1B? I am currently in my OPT and transitioning to H1B in few weeks. I never really applied for TPS EAD. I appreciate any help. Thank you already :)

The fact that you did NOT apply for TPS (EAD) puts a POSITIVE light on your H1B petition in my opinion. If you were like the many people who will do anything to get to the states, or stay here in any status (legal or illegal), you would have applied for TPS. H1B is a tougher route and your choosing that without also applying for TPS looks good on you. As long as your sponsor is a legit company which does H1B's regularly, you should not have any issues. GL!
EDIT: On second thought, you should consult your H1B lawyers. I know they generally advise not traveling before your H1B has been approved by USCIS.
EDIT 2: Nevermind above edit, your H-1B was already approved and active as of October of last year I presume so going for stamping should not be an issue.
Sometimes I'm slow in the mornings LOL.

You should be fine going for the stamping. Just make sure you are able to explain about your job responsibility's. Personally I would have renewed TPS and gone in with AP as a fallback option.
