The article is written as if the dealers are breaking a law or deceiving consumers. They have a prerogative to charge whatever price they want to. It's upto the consumers and other business to counter the price mark. Unless there is a collusion of sorts between dealers, this is not an issue. Besides, a car is not a necessity - it still is a luxury item.

why most of Nepalese journalist are [Disallowed String for - banned word]ked up stupid? Can't they understand selling car is not like selling a plate of momo where you can't sell a car every hour. It sometime takes days to sell even single car. On the top of that there is price of marketing, salary for employees, cost of inventory storage, cost of inflation etc. I wish our journalist take a basic economic class before writing anything about business. Moreover those businessman are not doing any illegal work. There is demand for those car and they are supplying it, that's all. Even if they are making 1000% profit and customers are willing to buy it then so be it. There shouldn't be any problem. Take an example of apple. Do you think an iphone cost $800. No wayyyyy.

People who can afford 76 lakhs can easily pay 35% more to have a car. This is not necessity but a luxury. Money was stolen and got stole. No surprising here. I didn't know that there are that many roads to drive so many brands.

My understanding is, the sole (exclusive) authorized dealer of Hyundai motors in the whole of Nepal is Laxmi Intercontinental PL, according to the article.
May be it might be time for the Nepal government to provide dealership license to multiple companies for any given brand. Then those competitive dealers can charge whatever they want to the customers.
