Question to someone very familiar with this issue. Question 1. With a student having multiple I-20s from different universities (lets say university A, B, and C) and paid the SEVIS for university A, but then changed his/her mind and decided to go with university B or C, does the student need to pay the SEVIS fee again with different SEVIS ID in the I-20 for the other universities? Question 2. If a student's US visa was refused for this semester and wants to apply for student visa in the following semester, can the student reuse the SEVIS fee from the previous application?

https://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/faq 1) SEVIS Fee paid to A, can apply to B/C/D with the same SEVIS Fee Receipt that you had paid to A. For 12 months, you don't need to repay that SEVIS fee. It can be transferred within 12 months to the university your visa has been approved. Once visa has been approved to B/C/D and you arrive in US, make sure you transfer your SEVIS Fee to the Univerisity you are currently enrolled to. You can call SEVIS help center and find out what are the requirements for transferring SEVIS Fee. Make sure you do that before your SEVIS expires (12 months), else you end up paying 200 bucks for a new SEVIS fee for your current University. 2) Yes, as long as it is within 12 months. SEVIS is only valid for 12 months. Hope this helps and good luck.

tesko_baje, can you please advise me how to transfer SEVIS online. My case is F1 visa was denied 6 months ago. Now, I received I-20 from different school but I don't know how to transfer my SEVIS from last university to new university. I went to the visa interview but my interview was denied because of not transferred SEVIS.

Sorry!! I didn't read your last line. When i got my visa 5-6 yrs ago I was granted visa without transferring SEVIS to that University. I transferred it after I arrive to US with the help from International Office.
