You have to go to DC for that , that’s for sure. Live enrollment!

Fill out the form and take the print out to the embassy. I did mine back in 2017 and it took 5 minutes and told me to come back in a month to take my passport. You can also send the application with pre-paid envelope.

Is DC the only option or can I travel to New York too to renew the passport?

i changed mine to MRP 4 yrs ago. all i did was emailed them requesting form (do not print it at home), they mailed it, filled it out and mailed it back with a prepeaid envelope with tracking info (you will get these instruction from them). im not sure if they still do it or you need to go there personally. tara garo k thiyo bhane, form ma aautha chaap handa alokati box bahira gako thiyo tesko lagi 2 patak form return bhayo. feri pani, yo 4 barsa agadi ko kura ho.
