If eligible for Social Security benefits, you will have to wait until you are 62 years old to receive reduced benefits and full retirement age to receive full benefits. Relinquishing your green card does not change your eligibility for U.S. Social Security retirement benefits.

Yes, if you worked 10 years or 40 credits then you’ll continue receiving payments (once you meet the age requirement for qualification )even if you’re citizen of Nepal.

frustu is there a legit source validating that? Is nepal one of those countries with the agreement? Is this also true once you have abandoned the green card and you have no legal status in usa? Will the payment be sent to Nepal?

Why not? You will receive checks in Nepal. You should have the address updated on their website ssa.gov. May be there will be a way you could set up direct deposit on your accounts in Nepal. ‘ Relinquishing your green card does not change your eligibility for U.S. Social Security retirement benefits’ , Copy and paste this line on google. You can’t be that lazy lol. Do you wanna send out email directly to SS folks? And let us know what do you find out. Can you do that or you want us do that too? Lmfao
