I no longer want to pursue pending asylum case in court. What do I need to do to withdraw the asylum case? Any sample letter and any suggestions would be appreciated.

withdrawal from asylum process is fairly simple . you dont need to do much just write a one line letter to the judge advocate of your court and let him know that you wanna discontinue . authorized sign is crucial. here goes sample letter . Mr.XXXX. ( senior judge, or whatever ) ( adddress ) Please discontinue my pending asylum case. Truly ( your name ) SIGN ( mandatory ) . you can elongate letter as much as you like/ can but this is not an IELTS exam and you wont be graded.

withdrawl of an asylum case in immigraiton court will have serious consequences if you do not tread carefully. Basically, you are in the removal proceedings and withdrawl of the application means you are voluntarily accepting removal from the US. since your case is in the court, I would presume that you have an attorney representing you. I strongly suggest that you speak with your lawyer about your intentions.

if you never had an interview for your asylum application, then withdrawl of that application should be straight forward. depending on where your application is pending, you should reach out to them either by phone, email, mail or in-person visit and inquire about the precedure. it is very important to note that if you do not have any other valid status to remain in the US, withdrawl of the application makes you ineligible to remain in the US. please do not take the above as legal advice because I do not have all the facts before me. consider it as general advice.
