Has anybody transferred such large sum out of Nepal.
What are some of the ways to do it, legally?
Heard that government is strifed for money and they are not allowing money going outside of country.

Maybe hundi?
As other financial organizations have certain money limit and charges for every transaction, right? I am also curious to know if there a way to do transfer a big amount like that at one take itself.

Well legally speaking money can’t be transferred from Nepal to USA regardless of the principal amount. Only option is Hundi, with Hundi as far as i am aware there is no co relation with government being “strifed for money” since money technically is not being taken out of Nepal in short.
Example: You deposit/give X amount in Nepal to person who runs Hundi.
X amount gets deposited into you bank A/C here in the US by associate of the Hundi person from Nepal.

Since it is such a large amount you will(most likely) be asked for the source of money and might have to pay tax based on what you say how you got the money specially if you are US citizen or Green Card holder.

Dont take hundi lightly. There is international laws and even in Nepal strict laws and jail times involved now a days. Its not like 10 yrs ago so font go around saying hundi hundi like its thay easy.In the usa its mkney laundy and attacts tax lawys. Nepal is acting like north korea in this regard and not giving property rights even four our own white money with sources.

This is the #1 reason why no one should be investing in Nepal even if ROI is higher than US. It is technically impossible to bring money to US. sidaNepali is right. Do not take it lightly specially in US otherwise FBI/IRS will flag you and you will run into all sorts of problem.

I was just explaining the process of Hundi. But yeah I agree it’s not easy to bring money from Nepal period & considering the legal risks that might come along the way its not worth it. It’s not like 2007 anymore.

They are planning to end physical cash system and promote only digital currency so that everything would be under their control. If anyone goes against their will, their bank account can be frozen.

With the current trend of Banks closing out, it is one of the first steps for the media to promote how the banking system does not work so everyone will be given reason why digital cash is better. Then there will be a big announcement that all cash needs to be exchanged for digital cash. People hoarding cash will not be able to convert to digital currency because they will need to show the source of their cash.

I know some Nepali who owns resturant here in Nepal and Colorado they do these stuff.

What i know they are doing is they run social service program to raise donation in co ordination with American with American University in  USA. Those American citizen lands here in Nepal so the trick is someone gives them the same equivalent amount here in Nepal to help the people at xyz village. While the money of American donation will stay in USA on the account you want to deposit. The rest Nepali currency goes on the pocket of programs where they want to donate. No one gonna doubt as donation are not supposed to be taxed in US.

Message me if you wish to know more.

I heard that they had involvement when sending Sherpa to climb mountain based on Colorado last year. Our ex ambassador home as some climbing fest organised by American Embassy as a part of exchange. My next door neighbour Sherpa was pretty upset they didn't chose him.

Colorado has big Sherpa community.

Anyway these days i stoped ranting against Nepali politician they are just the representative of us after all. Afu gatilo hunu paryoo ni samaj sadharna. Or dog eat dog world.

I was infact surprise by the fact so many Nepali American consider  extension TPS is not the reason for all this Visa rejection thats happening in Nepal.  Like tf how the heck these shit head even passed the visa interview? Probably just by outright lying like thy are doing they were lucky that getting a visa in 2008 was not that competitive as of 2023. It about competition of  8000 applicant versus competition of 30,000 or more.
