Thanks HOuston. I really enjoyed reading Kanak's article this morning. Kanak is trying to give advice to the King not to do this foolish stuff. But will the king listen to him? The working style of Gyanendra is that he gives sufficient hints to the population and outside world, what he intends to do, Well ahead of time. The people and parties are unable to read his signals on time. For example, the king has already decided that if parties dont accept municipal elections, he will ban all political parties. He has already given hints to them on this. These hints are: 1- banning FM Radios 2- Jailing political leaders 3- creating a parallel burocracy 4- making judiciary and other organs dysfunctional ........... By the end of this year, we will be heading towards direct military rule. Intellectuals like Kanak have understood the kings signals and are terrified. Dictatorship is what this country actually needs at this moment in time, whether that dictatorship comes from left or right.....This has become the objective necessasity for this country. Those who dont understand this, are either foolish or naive. Chetana Bhaya .... HOuston!

Hulaki Said: >>Dictatorship is what this country actually needs at this moment in time, whether that dictatorship comes from left or right.....This has become the objective necessasity for this country. Those who dont understand this, are either foolish or naive. BUT, the truth is: DICTATORSHIP can never be an objective necessity for any country at any point in time from either sides--- extreme left or extreme right . NEPAL can not be an exception!!! What NEPAL needs now is a full-flanged democracy, legal justice, human rights, personal freedom and peace. "People" should be the focus of any actions---NOT the "dictators". These essentials of civil society collectively determine the fate of Nepal's progresses. Callow attempts to disintegrate these essentials to focus over one and hide the others has practically NO MEANING. KG had used such strategy as a political weapon, which already proved unsuccessful. Kanak Dixit's writing has a good message to those who are backtracking their steps and who hesitate to be in front line of anti-king protests---especially the leaders of different sectors, eg,. doctors, engineers, lawyers. Except few corrupted faces, he is optimistic over the democratic leaders than anyone else in current Nepalese political game. --- OK

OK Guru: Thanks for your comments. I think you need to read a little more history books. (dont be offended from my advice though!) Every genuine change in Power in each country leads to dictatorship to reinforce the new rule of the game, whether it was in 1789 or in 2005. As the Bahudal wallas refused from dictatorship in 1990, their regime collapsed. The King is on the defensive, he needs dictatorship to defend his outdated regime, the republicans need dictatorship to abolish the feudalism in Nepal. It is the Indians who give advice of two pillar "democratic" theory... Palace plus parties. You know Indians never give proper advice to Nepalies. Indians have given advices that doesnot work for Nepal... not a single time, never. My Dear OK, Chetana Bhaya.... Hulak Bro--- realpolitic............

Kanak is one great journalist. He is always the first journalist to come forward and point the mistakes made by people in the government. He is bold, strong and rigid in his support to Loktantra Bad journalism. One of reason he is bold and strong might be because of his long time association with Ranas and the other reason he is one of the few journalists who have foreign degree in journalism. If things are written by other than Kanak, possibly these journalist would be killed in RNA actions or in Maoist safaya. As I wrote in my separte thread: - http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/openThread.cfm?forum=2&ThreadID=22330 King G is trying to have Bahudaliya "Panchayat" System run by RNA's former and current personnel as well as Shah-Rana-BhaiBhardars. We have to see whether non-Rana, non-Shah army officers will object the continued killing of innocent people in the name of "Maoist killed in encounter to Rna". I am only wonder what Paras will talk with the Emperor Akihito in Japan? Talk about Harley Davidson is not that good as Honda ? "Say NO to Militarization and Gyanendra-Tantra in Nepal". Have fun. GP

Who are the players in Ktm's politics? 1. Shah-Rana-Basnet-Thapa Jalo in KTM. The internal power struggle continues. They are all united to win over intruders i.e. bahudal walls. They think that Nepal belongs to them. 2. Kumai Bhaun samuha vs other Bahuns in Kathmandu. These bahuns are usually from Dillibazar area, but within the ring road. Ramesh Nath Pandey is kumai bahun and currently he leads Kumai Bahun group, Kriti Nidhi Bista ... leads the non-Kumai Bahun Group. They were never for Bahudal. Kumai Bahun and non-Kumai Bahun have internal struggle just the way Shah-Rana-Basnet-Thapa have. These Bahuns are united to defeat all other ringroad outsiders whether they are bahun or non-bahuns. These two groups were always active and playing to defeat Girija. That is why Girija was never liked by Ktm's new immigrants. Girija never liked them too and the war between Girija vs these Ktm Bahuns. Possibly, the marriage of some one out of Dixit family with Koirala family is a great success to Girija and it might be one reason Dixit family is now defending Bahudal. For Koirala family, it is a great success to have one influential bahun from Ktm to come forward and defend Bahudal. Whatever may be the reason, I salute Dixit being on our side "Bahudaliya Loktantra". I wonder whether there are any other real power man defending Bahudal from those powerhouse in Kathmandu. We should be able to pull people like Subarna Shamsher and the success whatever we achieved at that time was becasue of his presence among the bhid. To crumble the power house in KTM, we should break these two jalos and snatch the power from them. As long as we can not do it, we will never get real power to people. These two groups are so cunning that they are always 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year working to pull the power volleyball on their court. GP

As whole 75% of highly government post are covered by Rana, Thapa, Thakuri, and Banet. who are the supporter of Ganendra( Royal family )and against for democracy . They either play negative role on democracy or they give wrong advice to royal place. So poltician are valueless on Royal place. Lalu is not so worse how much media made him. Same thing was happening on Nepal Girija, madhav or Sherbahadur except some poltician they are not so corrupted but the royal place and their Bhauta kukur haru makes them corrupted to throw the democracy. I really feel shame on friend who has support Dictatorship in this thred. MY friend have you been outside of kathmandu. I suggest to visit neighbour districts of capital city, where you will see your dictatorship. This is not 18th cenetury, where people used to think king as a god but now time has change go and ask any one not outside of kathmandu valleybut in ktm, how many % people think good about king and royal family and maoist. Friend, Kankamani knows better than you and me , first he lives on nepal and second he is jurno. Living in Neywork and make a judgement over nepal saying that dictatorship is necessary for nepal. May be you don't have you don't have any one in Nepal , May be you are from Rana, Basnet, Thapa and Shah family, so You are supporting him, otherwise just think how many people are killing by Gane hanumans' everyday, are they maoist all terroist, ofcourse not. Why government is buying so much weapon, to kill nepali brothers and sisters, am i right? What is the reason ban on FMradio news, coz nepali citizen will listen about Ganne and his hanumans are doing, croouption on their government. What is the reson prepaid moible is close; coz gane and his hanumans always think nepali are their slave or third class citizen so they don't like they are using new technology. MY friend if you have hummor. First respect kanakmani and his writing rater than doing comment.

'Label all political parties as Araastriya tatwa and ban all political parties.' Gen (retd) Sachchit Samsere JBR said. Who the hell he is? I honestly think, the king is being ill-adviced by people like this a*** ***Generals. Bloody hell, why is the king appointing these retired useless generals as ambassadors and to all top level posts. Nepal is being militarilised. Down with the king and his aashe paase. I am againgt these extremists - left and right - but sometimes think, we people might need gun to fight the monarchy and RNA.

GP, Kirthinidhi is also a Kumai bahun. He belongs to the same dilli bazar bahun circle.I think u are alluding at the Pandeys - Kirthinidhi is a grandson (daughter's son) of Dillibazar Pandey's. A Koirala daughter (BP's daughter Chetna) is married to a Dixit guy, not outside as u have mentioned.

pade and gp. since when BISTA starts signifying/becoming BAHUN. old nepal had four KAJI's [ and they are all chhetri's or considered one ] BASNYAT;KHADKA;THAPA[chhetris<<== reason there are THAPA MAGAR's too];BISTA . people would argue now where are PANDE [ like sadar bhim bdr pande] khalak.. they were somewhere limited to SARDAR (o: not KAJI's... KHADKA's were also considered one of the four KAJI's in OLD nepal. Believe it or not .. BISTA.. used to/does mean CHHETRI. not BAHUN. I am merely stating fact here.. not defending caste system i would like to correct GP.. on one thing though, POLITICS in KTM/PALACE. can be revolved AROUND BHAI BHARDARS.. that includes RANA-SHAH clan. THAPA[KAJIS-Bagale]-BASNET[KAJIS] they are not POLITICIANS. MERELY PROFESSIONALS. THEY SERVE KING and COUNTRY. and these poor souls still are in 1800s.... now see [KAJIS] in braces.. that means that there are different KINDS of THAPA.. total of 34 to be precise. so other 33 KINDS may be involved in POLITICS. I am not speaking for them. ps Surya Bdr. Thapa happens to be in that 33rd kind-mugale thapa.

"we people might need gun to fight the monarchy and RNA. " I just wanna say that RNA are also Nepalese. They are fighting with the Maoists. But there is actue human right violations in the both sides and civilians are being crushed in the middle. If somebody could lead a mass movement the army will go against the king. How many people can the RNA shoot at. But the biggest problem is inability of the leaders. Because of this there is greater threat. I am really scared maoists might come into power. If they start gaining more ground there gonna be never ending civil war. The brutality and cruelty displayed by maoists indicate the possible genocide. To end this three way tussle new leadership needs to emerge. If there is no new laedership and still the three way tussle continues and Paras becomes the king then the country is doomed for sure. So I hope I really hope new leadership emerges. There will be end to the corrupt polticians. There is a negotiated settlement with maoists.

Today, June 6th is the birthday of King G, Dalai Lama and President Bush. How many American will care about President Bush's BD, whether any news media really care it. Compare it with King G's BD celevrations in Nepal. Its what happens with dictators' birthday. Dictators spend' national property to portray them as if heros ............ Jai Nepal. GP
