A gruesome case of human right voilation and disgusting behavior. If police can do this to a policeman how can public be safe on this a$$ 'oles hand. I am stunned do not know what to say. Have heard of shaven head and handing piglet during Rana regime to bring disgrace to one. But such a case in 21st century .... do not know what to say - http://kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=68893

Or was it a prank ? I DON'T TRUST THE NEPALI MEDIA(they all tend to tilt to the party they support). This is more like he said she said bullshit.

Why is there a need for listening to both sides? When police shave off his hair to insult him, it clearly shows that the police are operating above their jurisdiction in order to practice primitive form of law. If he had done something wrong, he should have been dealt through regular channels meaning the courts. And I don't think any court in todays 21st century orders a man be half shaven and insulted like that.

the guy could have been involved in something else, maybe he got caught taking bribe, or he was an informant for Mao's, or he got caught spying for the other politicians.... we need FACTS not ASSUMPTIONS. All I see here is speculations NO FACTS. thats why I need the whole story and both sides of the story.

One thing I find utterly disgusting in our society is the excess of morbid curiosity people possess. Looking at the pictures above, I cannot help notice so many people, some from the windows of the building gawking on this poor policeman. They seemed to be having one hell of a day. Being concerned is one thing, but to watch and be curious about the plight of someone else just to appease personal need of amusement is sickening. Be it a road accident, or a small argument or discussion, people of our society seem to find utmost pleasure being audiences.

Hurray, I agree with you 100% Its like you lay a towel in Tundikhel ..people start flocking like flies. And same with Traffic accidents. People have nothing better to do than to be in other people's business. Thats why we need to stabilize the country and keep these idle minds occupied with Real jobs & put the country back into the path of progress and developement.

Bathroomcoffee The police were wrong in shaving his head. No matter what he did, he should have been given a fair trial. Such barbaric act from the police is just wrong. You said "we need FACTS not ASSUMPTIONS. All I see here is speculations NO FACTS. thats why I need the whole story and both sides of the story." The fact here is that he was shaved off as a sign of disrespect and ridicule. That's the fact which was a wrong. There is no assumption in there. And that FACT my friend, is just wrong.

The process of cause and effect is absent here. Yeah shaved head is a fact !! But what caused it ? is absent. It is irrational to comprehend this as a human being ! I don't think cops did this out of no reason(and if they did they they should be held accoutable). But I wiould like to hear what the cops have to say on their behalf first. Before i past jusdgement !!

Bathroom coffee So you think that shaving off someone's hair is possibly a rational justification of some crime?

The way the story and the picture has been presented, it indeed is pitiful but I am just surprised by monotonous voices here. Nobody has actully stood up and explained what had actually happened. I am not saying the police (Mr. Bagale) is lying but as Bathroom coffee stated, we do need to hear the complete stories from both sides.

Bhusan, I don't think it is a rational justification but before that I would like to hear the Cops defense too(i don't think it is rational justification to shave our heads in our coming of age aka Barmitzvah cermony eithr).he he he And I am not saying the punishment fits the crime(better than stonig someone to death or cutting off their hand like in some countries). But iwould still like to hear why the cops did it !!!

"The police headquarters has claimed that Bagale was dismissed from his post for, among other allegations, ill-intentionally keeping hold of 29 Tolas of gold brought in from Brunei by former DSP Khadga Singh Gurung. " Bagale has stated that he was mistreated because he attempted to raise voice against his superiors who were involved in criminal activities. The gist is that when Bagale started to expose thier wrongdoings, his superior officers wanted to make him pay for his insubordination and they fired him, beat him up and shaved off half his head to ridicule him. You still wanna hear why the cops did it?

didn't mr baagle say that his head was shaved for leaking wrong doing informations at the police headquarters? so the other party is saying,he kept the 29 tola gold brought by some other guy. this till doesn't give them the right to save his head off. i think, they asked for some share which he denied and then got kicked and stampeded by them.lolz

have to agree with bathroom coffee. no, shaving a person's head is in no respect justification for any kind of crime but at the same time that does not mean we pour all our sympathy on a person with a shaved head and automatically assume that he has to be right the other side is wrong. i am not a a fan of nepal police, but we cannot overlook the factthat kantipur is providing us wiht only side of hte story, one side of events, one narration. kantipur may be a trusted publication and all, but we do not know what is happening on the other side and lets not forget that this man himself comes from nepal police. i think this is a horrendous act and accurately reflects humans rights abuse, but until we are aware of what his "crime" was, i would choose to remain impartial.
