Some people have mistaken my word of caution as anti democracy - which is not the case at all. If we practically look at the current politican situation of Nepal * We want Democracy * we have 7 party alliance who are fighting for multiparty democracy The bigger picture is that this 7 party alliance which is fighting for democracy will need to partner with either the KING or the MAOISTS. Do you feel comfortable with them collaborating with the Maoists or the King? What happens: If the 7 parties ally with the Maoists are bring democracy. It means the King is out. Maoists actively participate in political process. When you consider the bigger picture of Nepal, the 7 parties are not stronger than Maoist to resist them, if the Maoists decided to take control of Kathmand and thus the whole country. These maoists who forcibly enroll the people from villages into their army or kill them, cannot be trusted. If the 7 parties ally with the King and work something out, there is a chance that through political strategying we can someday liberate the kingdom to experience democracy. If the Maoist take over it will be almost impossible, maybe it will take another 100 years or so. So the question is do you want the 7 parties to collaborate with the KING or the MAOISTS?

He bhaiho, if we make listing of monarchs of the World, I think most BASTARD KING is of Nepal. He is the sucker of Government budget paid by poor tax payers of Nepal. He thinks national properties as his private properties, national army as his private security force.

People will surely go for freedom. But how are we going to achieve freedom? I do not think Maoists will lead us to freedom. If they come to power, Maoists will start killing in 100 and 200 and people will not even know it. The parties are hopeless unless they cut their friendship with Maoists. So I would go for King for now.

It is short sighted to partner with Maoists. If maoist government come into power we will never have the press freedom that we have right now. They will just execute at will at any one not following their guidelines. The king is bad, but to support the Maoist because the king is bad, is like jumping from a frying pan into the fire.

I am also ready to give a shot with Maoists. If they come to mainstream and participate in election what's wrong with that. Keeping king is just being coward. There will be some price to pay if we want to solve the problem. Royals were, are and will be the biggest sucker in the history of Nepal. Maoists can take that path too but they are not as entrenched as Royals. So, it will be easier to destabilize them once elected government gets full power. Even international community will help to get rid of Maoist terrorism if Maoists continue to do as what they have been doing.

i am not trying toadvocate for maoists, what i find intersting is that, since last year the kidnapped victims have returned home safe from the maoists captivity than from the RNA captivity.

Ha ha ha Counting yer Chickens before they are hatched ? he he People willing to give Maoist a chance !!....he he CAN IT WORK ? Now lets look at the practical side of it. The fall of USSR and modernization of China towards cpitalism is evident enough. Just look at how both of those countries run today. China(home of Mao Tse Tung) is under dictatorship( no freedom of speech, the fuking state regulates all aspects of civilian life). And all the MORONS that are running under Democracy Banner think they will have more freedom under the COMMIES ? ha ha ha This is a joke right ?

He he Are you sayin Dictatorship is better than him ? Like in China ? Where they can detain and torture you at will ? Where there is no freedom of press(even Internet) ? If there is going to be a change IT SHOULD BE FOR BETTER NOT WORSE. I have never known communist to be Democratic. You think its bad now ? he he If the commies take over I bet you'd want the king to take back the country.

bathroomcoffe, yes maoists believe in communist ideals, but the reason why i think they should be given a chance is becasue they have promised in recent days that they are willing to do in concordance with the peoples' wills, adn this is my only hope...i hate commuunism, i would hate it neapl became like peru or china or n. korea.....but if maoists are being flexible with their vision, then we ought to give them a chance. if you think we cannot trust the maoists' words, then we cannot turst anyone's words, no king no SPA no maoists, then what? will you come and lead us?

bhaute, thanks. glad to know someone udnerstands what i am saying. bidhan, you are at full liberty to not trsut the maoists. and i see where that is coming from. but who would you trust? the RNA who kill civilians in prisoners and claim that these prisions committed sucide using their shoelaces? twice that happened? you would trust the RNA who killed its own member who killed 12 other innocent civilians in nagakrkot for the sake of its reputation? trust might be the wrong word....maoists are as much nepali as u and i are. every single politlcal party, belief and agenda must be given a chance. sure there might be royalists, let them come ahead and hold elections and lets see who is the most popular. if the majoirty of nepalis want the monarchy to stay, then that says it all..... giving the moasits is not gonig to solve all our problems. in fact, our crisis will be far from over, but it will at least adress the most pressing issue of our country and that is the insurgency.

Its been 10yrs since the Mao's started their insurgency. WHat assuance do we have that they will not revert to violence again to get what they want ? I have nothing against RNA. Its the officers who give out the orders that are bad. Look at Pakisthan, Musharraf is trying to keep their country afloat from the Mullahs !!! When the Mao's hide amongst the innocent civilians what are the RNA supposed to do ? It is a full fleged war going on. There are bound to be causuaties on both sides. And both side are guilty. I don't trust either of them.

< If the Maoist take over it will be almost impossible, maybe it will take another 100 years or so. >> I can just feel pity on your hypothesis Red Alert! Neither the monarchy nor the maoism can dominate democracy. We don't need democracy in alm from the king nor we have the fear of maoist dictatorship. Democracy never gets defeated. Why should the parties ally the king who gives us bullet and curfew and batons? The movement of 2046 was already set to dump the monarchy in tukucha but these are parties who carried the monarchy on thier head and as a result the parties have been sidelined. So, why the heck we have to ally the king any more? At the moment, we should ally the maoist and try to disarm them and bring them to main political line. If they don't correct themselves, they will be eliminated like everywhere in the world. Not any form of dictatorship and totalitarianism accepted, be its maoism or monarchy.
