Does anyone have any idea about persuing MBBS (or equvalent) studies in the USA.

I mean, how a student who completed 10+2 in Nepal can become a doctor in the USA. Any detailed advice about medical studies in the USA is highly appreciated.

And of course, List of few good universities with high chances of shcolarship will be much helpful.

In USA a pluls two student can never get admission in medicine school, either he or she must complete bachelor or some pre requisite course from any university. One can get admission in microbiology or some pre med school before you join med school. So far i know pre requisite like general biology, chemistry, immunology, genetics, virology, biochemistry all are important for the qualification for medicine school and for any medicine school they will try to look for the best GPA....i am just wriing you through some of my american friends experience....

and you can search med school from google and it is very expenisive, you need to have plenty of finance as it cost more than 150 or 200 thousand dollar by the time you finish...

hello prakash ji, there is no such thing like MBBS in usa. 10+2 is high school equivalent in usa. after your high school, you need to do 4 years bachelors degree. if you are already decided going for medical doctor then undergrad with major focus in biology, chemistry, microbiology, ... basically pre med subjects will help you a lot later in your graduate school. after your four years bachelors degree and good MCAT score, you might get into medical school and it takes 6 years after that to become a doctor. it is very difficult to get aid and admission in medical school if you are not an american. however once you are done with 10 years of education after what you have now that is 10+2, you will have a very good income. good luck.
on flip side, it is good idea to do MBBS in Nepal/India and take USMLE test and come here for residency, which is cheaper and easier way to become a doctor in usa.

Follow NUMBER's advice. He is correct.

If you still wanna give a shot at doing ur undergrad (pre-med) in US, its upto u. But as said earlier, thr's minimal chance to get in just bcoz u r international and that the expenses are soaring high!!!

Good luck

Prakash_Ji - I think you should just get a bachelors in the US and then go to med school!! :D And like number said you might have to take pre med courses but you don't need to major in the sciences, you can even major in english or any other field if you want! :)
Good Luck!! :) :)

If you are a residence, you probably wanna go to India, philipines, or some other countries because you'll save time..... years ..... literally 3 to 4 and probably com here and pass few exams get into a field and I think nothing is valuable than experience. If you wanna get into a field quicker and get more experiences under your belt more better it is for you.

Just like when students in early 90's when they could come to US after SLC....they saved good 2 years.

later.....think outside the borders

I strongly advise not to do pre medicine and pursue going to medical student if u r in college here in states.........unless you have $300,000 floating around to show upfront before even applying to medical schools!!!!
