Nepalean.........I think.........The Shah Dynasty United Nepal and gave us all one Identity Nepali. Our history and culture and tradition was shaped with this concept..(हामी एक हौ) so whats you see happening now is....ummm...It is like cooking chicken curry but not adding chicken......now it wouldnt be a chicken curry at all would it? similarly..............take the king out of Nepali culture and tradition............we will loose who we are as you mentioned....The KIng is our identity even as a mere figure....The king is the solution to the equation of a united nNepal...as he is our Figure of UNITY and Peace among all under his kingdom...but now.....everyone is demanding their own state, identity and I think it is because they are insecure of where Nepal is leading and they feel comfortable with people and who look speak and feel alike (I wonder if Nepal would still be called Nepal as it was the Shah dynasty who Named it.........I wouldnt be surprised if they would change it ).......I am really sad whats going on in Nepal and hate those people responsible for it...........WE were once the most peaceful country in the world ....but now I smell disaster........India is again succesfull..................................

Can you guys live without listening to or dedicating dhoti songs in sajha? this is too much. sasahday, why don't you think of better ways of uniting Nepal under current condition than breaking it apart. Yes we hate indian for what they are, but we don't hate people from Terai. It's unfortunate that a lot of Terai people are mistaken for Indians. There should be a way we can settle this conflict without actually creating another reason for bloodshed and trouble in the country. I appreciate your views, but Nepal is already a small country struggling in between big countries. the present condition is right for settling mutual misunderstandings between different groups. There are so many ethnic groups in Nepal. For instance, newars, rai, limbu, gurung, madhesi, and many many more. What makes you think, sasasday, that all of these ethnic groups are well represented in Nepal. it is a sad reality that nepal was dominated by one race for a long time. But the time is different now. we can put all our differences aside and get involved in the current movement in the country. If the present contition is not suitable or is not fruitful, we can still change it. we can create proper atmosphere and laws where discrimination of any sort is severely penalised. It might take many years, but TOGETHER WE CAN DO THAT.

nepalean you are right there needs to be better leadership. Its time we Nepalese who live outside of Nepal make our voice heard. We need to do something for our country, through diplomatic channel.

I have a list of probable solution for all our problems. They channel through the concepts of Hinduism and Buddhism which is also our only linkage with India. These concepts mixed with modernization should release Nepal from Sati ko Sarap. For a successful Nepal India relationship and development I give you a 15 point program. 1) Hindu Nationalist BJP is to come into power in India. 2) The post of the President of India is to be abolished. 3) The wish of his holiness Shankaracharya, who has repeatedly declared the King of Nepal as the King of all Hindus living in the world, has to be implemented. 4) Thus, the King of Nepal is to be the ceremonial head of both Nepal and the Kingdom of India. 5) Both Nepal and India are to be declared Hindu Kingdoms. 6) Nepal cannot prosper without a conservative Hindu leader taking control of Delhi. The leader to be the next prime minister of India should be Uma Bharatri, who will treat all Hindus and Buddhists as they deserve. 7) All communists (both radical and liberal) must be sent to Gulag, for coining the word. 8) All minority religions are to be treated justly. They are to be respected as our own. However, there shall be no special treatment. 9) Anyone holding political, civil or administrative office is to declare their property before the elections or oath of office, (as applicable). Any unjustified additions beyond, should automatically result in apprehension of all their property in addition to a compulsory jail time. 10) Anyone holding office as the Member of Parliament, Secretary of any commission or Department and Foreign Appointments must have a Masters degree in any field of their choice. If not they are to be subjects of encouragement to go to college while in office. The government should take the education tab for such ignorant politician(s). 11) Minimum wage, maximum working hours and basic healthcare is to be provided for free to all citizens .This is to start with renovation if Bridhashram (old Age House) next to Pashupati. Subsequently, with time caste system is to be abolished for real. 12) Government is to take the education tab for primary and secondary education. It should increase the standard of its schools so that everyone would feel comfortable sending their children to a government school (rich and poor alike). In short, shut down pvt. schools not by force, but by market competition. 13) A national database is to set up that would record all possible information starting from drivers license, land ownership documentation, citizenship, probably sajha bus pass and may be (when we are at it) a govt. of Nepal issued credit/debit card. 14) All promotions and demotions of people holding public office should be public and on a point basis system. 15) Media is to be held responsible to make sure that all these guidelines are being met.

Holy Cow! This CK is my friend....he is in my messanger list. oye ck mula k k gardai hideko yesto..hami tero thauma aune visa chaine ho aba...I guess CK is not in Japan these days. But creating radical faction doesnt bring the solution at all. More reactive force, the country will be more unstable. I belive the best solution is to solve every thing(every situation) including these morchas in fair manner with available capability and possible way.

I am happy that some Political parties have finally started working on madeshis issues. Pahades always considered madeshis as Indians and they hated madeshis like poor foreigners. since JTTM has started armed struggle against Nepal government to fulfill their demand, some Pahades think JTTM is taking away chunk of Nepal from them. this armed uprising will definitely ring the bell to most of pahades that they should respect and listen to everyone no matter where they from and what language they speak.

usofa...............ya ya ya more voilence .........remember as long as people arms and legs....carrying arms and weapons will not be an issue...dont think pahades will sit quite...to protect ones family one will do whatever it takes....IN BOTH WAYS..madhesi and the pahade....the matter is is this the solution?// you are implying that now they have picked arms they demand respect>???? watch out because pahade outnumber madeshes and if they carry arms than ....it will have a sad out come for the madheses .........you are very proud that taking the path of voilence is going to earn them respect.........I assure you my pal..........this will only worsen our country state.........This was not even a case of discussion when the king was effectively around....all these changes in our country bought by this various parties are leading the country to destruction........mark my word today its the madhesi, tomorrow it will be the sherpas, than the rais and limbus then the Newars............OH lord Nepal is breaking into peices....just as India wanted........Only the KIng can save us from Disaster.

DO YOU THINK THIS IS EVER POSSIBLE nepalnews.com mk Jan 06 07 JTMM ready for talks with govt under UN monitoring; sets 9-pt demand Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM), an armed outfit led by Jwala Singh, which is active in parts of Terai, has said it is ready for UN-brokered dialogue with the government. Issuing a statement Saturday, Jwala Singh said the JTMM was ready to sit for talks under UN monitoring -- and if the government comes positively towards its demands. Singh, who formed his own armed group after parting ways with the JTMM led by Jaya Krishna Goit, also set nine demands including recognition of Terai as an autonomous province, appointment of Terai-origin people in all government offices in Terai region, delimitation of election constituencies based on population ratio, return of land and properties captured by the Maoists and a census in Terai led by Terai people. He also demanded that the revenue collected in Terai region be used entirely in Terai and Rs 1.5 million compensation be provided to each of the families of those "killed by the state" in Terai. Singh's statement came a few days after Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala said at a programme in Biratnagar that the government was ready for talks with the JTMM. The JTMM, which had split from the CPN (Maoist) few years earlier, is involved in individual killings, abduction and extortion in Siraha, Saptari and surrounding districts.

MadDog why do you want to turn back time again? King era is long gone. Don't even dream of king rule again in Nepal. Regarding JTTM demands, they will be milder once they will sit in bargaining table with Government.
