Can you guys recommend a good book for sql programming itself, I'm not a dba but an application developer, recently having headache with some very long queries. I'm at an intermediate level with the query language and want some advance tips. Thought you might know better.

Actually I am a freelance .Net programmer. Recently i have completed a full software with Sql Server Express as backend. And i have to do everything on the project, from the manual writing to database documentation. That's why i was asking for help.

As for Sql Server Express, it is good as it is light and suitable for small to medium sized application.If you are really interested, then try Vista DB. The interesting thing is Vista DB is only 770 kn im size and pure .Net.

As for Vhootee , try this book:

Microsoft Sql Server 2000 Administrative's Companion.
And belive me you will love it.
