Hi experts, Please give me some tips on this question. GC holders can remain out side the USA and maintain their GC status as long as they enter USA within a year. Question: Are GC holders required to stay a certain period of time in the USA before leaving the USA again? Or Can they leave immediately after entering the USA every year and maintain the GC status? Thank you.

***Or Can they leave immediately after entering the USA every year and maintain the GC status?*** There is a purpose that green card serves...and it is that it allows you to maintain status as a permanent resident of the US. You can try leaving the US immediately after entry, but the entry officers are not foolish either -- be prepared to be questioned and provide to them a proof of non-abandoning US as your primary residence. Also, remember that there is *never* a guarantee that you will be allowed to re-enter the US... that right is reserved for US citizens only, regardless of whether you have a valid visa, AP, or a green card.

Thank you guys for your response. But question is very general in terms of general rule or law. Is someone with GC is required to stay in USA for any minimum length of time before he/she leaves again every year. Reason is that - I don't live in USA. I am in Nepal. I visit US every year. But I need to maintain my GC. Give some info please. My question may be stupid.

Holy fk!!! Someone with a GC has no idea that s/he should consult a lawyer in cases like these? You are talking about your status of GC and you want to do as the people in Sajha say it? Not that I am underestimating the capability of people here but to be on the safe side, consult with your lawyer...

If you can post in Sajha means can browse in web and get real answers. Do not be a dependet of sajha or others that is how you survive and excel.
