But seriously, a persistent activism, even if it means doing a small small things one at a time, and some kind of radicalism (I think we need a Youth Movement I aimed either to reduce the power of political parties, and thereby increase the power of public, or to replace the old generation of junk leaders with younger leaders in political parties ) are what I feel are the answers.

All these problem started by Maoest, they are the one gave idea about exercising power and ethinical politics. Should we compromise with, single Tarai porvidence, we have to face more problem in future as they get atonomty.  They will merge to India ASAP. Mongel will claim the Pahad, where should go the rest. This is a chin reaction of Maoest act.

Maoist politics only opened the lid; the lid of a pot already filled with problems accumulated over time before Maoist came into the scene. Terai problem is of making of decades of neglect and exclusion of Madhesis by non-Maoist rulers.

Although LSN seems to be spitting at the reflecting mirror, he has a good point about the hollow talks that go.

 

Let me first define what’s hollow and what’s solid.

 

Talk only about problems – HOLLOW

Suggest solutions too – SOLID

 

Come to think of it. What the hell our honahar yuba of various Toles are writing on those banners ? Problem, problem, problem.

 

What about the solutions ?

 

Don’t they know nothing about them ?

Don’t they need to know or look for them ?

 

If our problem is incompetent or date-expired leaders (just suggesting one), should we not ask for fresh and competent leaders ?

 

Even without any context, this is election time. Is it not the best time and opportunity to bring the change we want to see ?

I was involved in a social org in Nepal named : sabal samaj ... They are not related with any political party ..

If all agree and collect the money .. I can make arrangment to send money there in Nepal .. and they will make banner like above or like nepe suggested

daicha ... 2 of the banner was hanged in Bangemudha area ... when i saw that pics i noticed ... 1st from Bangemudha to Ason and another from Bangemudha to Bhedasing..last one... yha we need some more banner like that and ... later on those chaina list will be increased and updated with many more chaina...

I can't understand why everyone goes around bashing politicians when the root of the problem is us. I don't blame Makune or Girija or even Prachanda.

The government is a system that WE created for US. We're the largest part of it. When we are so apathetic about the actions of the government what right do we have to blame them when they take advantage of us?

I grew up in Nepal and have seen corruption first hand in front of my eyes in my home when people would come in to try and bribe my father. Now I know why I'm in the west because if my dad had corrupted himself, we wouldn't need to be here.

People, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. Stop being so incredulously ignorant. You blame about pollution yet you're the guy (if you recall) who loitered wherever the heck you wanted to in your recent trip to Kathmandu. You were the one who thought volunteering was useless and getting involved in the community was uncool. You are the one who thinks about you before anyone else. And what do you think these corrupt politicians are doing? They're thinking about themselves first too, JUST LIKE YOU!!

If WE don't show our elected leaders HOW to behave, they'll never learn. They do what we ask them to do. They hear our voices. If we're setting a bad example, they're just gonna copy it! And fix your own homes before you think about fixing your country. Get a job, stop going out protesting whenever you get the chance and destroying infrastructure because you don't have anything to do (since you sucked while at school because all you did was goofed around and now noone wants you). Take care of your parents and relatives, build a nice house, set an example to your ethnically/ racially/ religiously biased neighbour so HE can improve.

And speaking of Girija, I don't support him, nor do I hate him. But I do respect him. You can bash me all you want but you owe this country's democracy to, AMONG OTHERS, the three Koirala brothers. Have some respect folks!! I'd like to see you battle it out like he has. I know I can't.

I wonder how much positive vibe it must have generated during those 38 days of it’s display.

 

To me, the vibe was negative. It was too mundane, too uncreative, too unaware of the time and somewhat ill-intended.

 

The place should have taken by a banner related the election of Constituent Assembly.

 

It hardly needs to argue that the event is so historical that soon it will be written in every textbook of our children.

 

As I once joked elsewhere, years from now, our kids will be asking us about what we did during it.

 

Imagine, someone replying to his kid, “I sponsored for a Bhoktatntra banner in Sajha, dear”.
