guys,
As folks back in nepal are parroting of rapid economy and i wonder how that is possible.By saying this i am not painting the gloom picture but i am trying hard to figure out how that will be possible. We don't have mines or such as Africa on which others will be ready to invest. As someone as said there is no free launch and i doubt others even our close neighbor will spend if they can get anything in return.

1.The only possible viable solution i see is the hydro project but that too i doubt will be sufficient for nepal recovery in terms  of economy, cause to generate money we need to sell the things and for current context nepal itself is in dire need of electricity much before we sell to others.

2.The other things i purpose is offshore market for IT industry . May be we can copy India for this.Atleast if we can assure US/Europe customer that we too can deliver quality and timely software modules then i am sure we can get that share too.But we should be bit cautious onto this cause nobody will like to loose customers and i am sure india will backfire us and influence top notch head(atleast to so called politician)  not  to take this path.I hope you remember how our garment industry was so shattered by indian propaganda in US/Germany by filming that it is of child labor :( .So,we should be bit cautious onto this.

3.The other is now government should at least for the sake of new nepal should think pragmatic against us NRN .Why don't they make dual citizen for us. We love and value our hard fought earned money.Nobody will like to loose like that.If my investment is guaranteed and atleast i can be a part of economy development of nepal then why not ..i will surely invest there. When we are back in nepal we tend to think the NRN are bit selfish and they always think of themself like dual citizen and else and putting a lot clause just to throw up their free dollors to the needy here. But coming here i think all do realize that so called free dollors has lot of sweat and hard working onto it and every cents counts to us cause we know how hard it is to make it.So, i think back then until they think from this perspective it is hard if someone will just throws his $$  just for the cause.

4.Can agriculture be the good and viable option for rapid economy?

...i am running out of idea..feel free to add onto it.

IT we can not compete with india. Hydropower of nepal is not very economical, costs too much because the soil is not very stable.

I would suggest sell all the loosers of the CA elections to US and India.

How about setting up industries? Another good one is building toll roads. Let private investors build roads and let them run for 30-40 yrs to collect their money via toll, about 10-20 Rs. you know. Alot of people will get job while building it and increases tax revenue in the future.

Another thing thats been bothering me is, how can we be fully dependent on agriculture or farming if we are the smallest country in the world. There isn't much space to make it a dependent source of income.

One way would be to try to woo the foreign travelers. Our nation's image as a great Tourist destination has been tarnished much in the last decade. So, I guess now once we can assure the foreigners that it is peaceful to travel to Nepal, the tourist industry should equally advertise to attract the foreign travelers attention, of course with the heavy participation of the government. I think tourism will be a good sector to bring the much needed money. But, people in this sector should remember that they definitely need to improve the quality of the service they've been providing.

One thing i realize is that unless local people are not made responsible for the products/factory etc whatever that is being set up in the local level ,things will never go straight. One thing i bet is at least for 30% or such we should have the local people shareholding on that development project and make them feel that the development is theirs and all the setup bed for the cause is from their pocket. Unless it is not yours ..s/he will never owe the responsibility for it.For instance some 5 yrs back samudayik bann(community forest) if folks remember was flourishing like anything.Infosys the indian premier IT company was number 1 IT company in India and its revenue to indian govt was big chunk.Naryan Murthy sold the share of it to its employee and then back employee were working as if it is their own company. So, i strongly feel we should take the strategy of community development otherwise world bank loan/govt will build the infrastructure and development and for sure people will take it for granted.
