Mind you, I'm not getting married anytime soon but just wondering how much it would cost, on average, for a wedding in Nepal nowadays! Any ideas? Let's say about 200-300 people for reception, the usual ceremony, gift givings, etc.

FKTUBE is offset, he may be right. IF he is married he did not think of getting help or no plan in near future.
Good, you are planning to get married. Marriage is like a proverb " if you see you will regret if not you will regret too, better regret getting married life.
As per FKETUBE, Your question is ghanta jasto. I will suggest to have pleasant conversation with your would be wife & her family and your own family regarding how you all want to proceed and always match with your wallet size.

Absolutely Valid Question.
On Average, how much would it cost for the necessities only? Would be looking around the thread for answers from experienced ones.

I suggest you in a medium class family like mine...it would cost roughly about 5 lakhs....which include about 2 lakhs of jewelries whose price is skyrocketing.....Rest depends on your aptitude...

Thanks guys! It's not like I will plan my wedding according to this. I just wanted to see on average what the costs were like.

as per my lil' observation, whatever it costs, it's always at least a100 fold less than the 'real' price you gotta pay after marriage. do you still wanna do your math? hahaha

just go to Nepal and marry someone either Rich or Politician (including Maoist) daughter and have them fork all the bills + have them buy you a house here in US too... life settled and no-headache. Your problem solved.
