एक दिन भोकै मर्नुपर्छ पोउरख  नहुनेले

म त आफ्नै पोरख खान्छु

म त हातका नङ्रा खियौछु,

नेपाली हुनाले, नेपाली भाईदिनाले।

 

यो अर्ती र उपदेश हामीले ६ कक्षाको किताबमा पड्छौ। हामीलाई सानै देखी यसरी आफ्नो खुट्टामा उभिन सिकाइएको थियो, त किन आज हामी सबै अरु राष्ट्रको भर्मा बाची रहेका छौ, र आफ्नै राष्ट्रमा नङ्रा खियौन नसकी बाहिर बिदेसिनु परेको छ?

हामीलाई यस्तै उपदेश धेरै सिकेका छौ तर यहाँ कोही पनि सानोमा सिकेको कुरा आफ्नो दैनिक जीवनमा लागु नभएको भेटिन्छन्।

जस्तेइ लक्ष्मी प्रशाद देवकोटाको कविता "फलेको ब्रिक्ष्यको हागो नझुकेको कहाँ छ र"

हो यो सार मा प्रश्न चिन्न भेटे मैले।

"फलेको ब्रिक्ष्यको हागो नझुकेको कहाँ छ र?"

यहाँ लाख र करोड को धाक दिन्छन चियाको पैसा तिर्नुस् भन्दा पैसा छैन भन्छन।

आफु अली माथिल्लो पदमा आएपची, तलका पद्का ब्यक्तिसँग बोल्ने सोहमत छैन। आफु भन्दा असक्क्षम ब्यक्तिलाई यहाँ धेरैले हेला गर्छन्।

 

हामी अर्कालाई अर्ती, उपदेश र सल्हा दिन साह्रै चंख छौ, तर त्यही अरुलाई दिएको अर्ती, उपदेश र सल्हा  आफुलेनै पालना गर्न चै कोही भेटिन। सबै जान अर्का माथि औंला ठद्यौन सक्ने तर आफ्नु गल्ती कोही नदेख्ने। आफ्नु गल्ती देखे पनि, अरुले देखेको छकी छैन यसो बुझ्ने, छैन भने आफ्नो गल्ती अर्काको थप्लोमा हल्दिने।

 

मेरो विचारमा, यदी हामी सबैले अफुलाइनै सुधारे, शायद हाम्रो देश अर्कै हुँन्थ्योकी? आखिरमा यो देश तपाईं हामीले नै भरिएको छ ने होइन र?

 

देश कनूनले बन्दछ

 

यती साधारण कुरा हाम्रो देशमा लाघु हुन सकेको छैन। हार्म्रो देशमा कनून भन्ने बस्तुनै छैन।

किन एक हावाल्दार्ले जब एक धनी बडाको छोरालाई, कानून तोडेको बेला रातो हात पकडिन्छ, र त्यस धनी बडाको छोराले आफ्नो मोबाईल बाट यसो माथिल्लो पद्को ब्यक्तिलाई फोन घुमाइ दिंदा, त्यस माथिल्लो पद्को ब्यक्तिले हवल्दार्लाई गाली गरी समातेको ब्यक्तिलाई छोडिदिने हुकुम आउछ र हवल्दार्ले ”हस साब” भनी छोड्ने बाध्यता श्रीजना हुन्छ?

 

त्यो हवल्दार्ले बरु उल्टै त्यस माथिल्लो पदमा बसेको ब्यक्तिलाई समेत, कानूनको खेल्वाड गरेबापत कार्वाही गरे कसो होला? कानून भनेको त्यो हो मेरो विचारमा।

 

हो छन खराब मान्छे तलको तहमा पनि। तर जब घरका बाउ आमा नै बिग्रिएका छन भने छोरा छोरी सुध्रिने कमै सम्भावना हुन्छ।

 

कि के हामीले कानूनको पारीभासै बुझेका छैनोउ? यदी छौ भने किन यो  देशमा कानून धनी बडा लाई भन्दा बडी गरीब र कानूनका रक्षक लाई नत किन्न सक्ने, नत धम्काउन सक्ने वा मान्छे नचिनेका लाई मात्र लागु हुन्छ?

फरक छुट्यौनु कानून होइन, गैर कानून हो। यस् देशका गरीब सर्ब साधारण जनतालाई जस्तो कानून लाग्दछ, देशका धनी बडा तथा राजा लाई पनि सोही कानून लागु हुनु पर्छ, मेरो विचारमा।

 

यो मेरो विचारमा हरेक सर्ब साधारण जनताको शहमत छ, तर यस् बिषयमा आवाज उठाउने कोही छैनन, किन? देशको सानोतिनो बिषयमा जनता बहिर निस्कन्छ्न तोड्फोड गर्छन्, टायर बाल्छन् तर देशमा कनूनलाइ दर्हो र तगडा बनाउन कोहो सडकमा उत्रेको देखिदैन।

 

जस्लाई सोधेपनी ’हो दाई, तर हामी सर्बसाधारण गरीब जनताले के गर्न सकछौ र’ वा ’हो तर कस्ले गर्ने?’

म मेरो प्रश्नको उत्तर म प्रश्नमा नै पौछु।

पर्छ। तर यसो किन नभएको? के सरकार जनताको नोकर होइन, हाम्रै भलाइको लागि हामी गरीब जनताले तिनिहरुलाई त्यस उच्च पदमा रखेका होइनौ, त किन तिनिहरु त्यस उच्च पदमा पुगेपची, जुन एक मातको महत्व चुनावमा हुन्छ, त्यही मातको आवाज पछी कसैले सुन्दैन यो देशमा . के नेपल्को प्रजातन्त्र भनेको यही हो, कि हामीलाई प्रजातन्त्रको पारीभासै थाहा छैन?

मैले बुझे सम्मयहाँ मान्छे अर्काको खुट्टामा टेक्छन, अनी के गरेको यो मेरो खुट्टामा किन टेकेको बन्दा, प्रजान्त्र आयो, मलाई जे गर्न मन लाग्यो म त्यही गर्छु भन्छन।

मैले नेपालमा यस्तै प्रजातन्त्र देखे धेरै ठाउँमा ।

 

मलाई एक साथीले भन्थ्यो, देशका जनतालाई गोरु जोते झै जोतन दुई तरिका बाट सकिन्छ अर:

१, जनतामा डर, त्रास र भय फैलाउनु।

२, जनतालाई अशिक्षित बनाइ रखानु।

 

मैले हाम्रो नेपालमा दुबै कुरा लागु भएको पाए। हामी बीर गोर्खाली आज कट्टुमा मुत्छौ र उु गर भन्दा गु गर्छौ।

 

 

अर्थ न बर्थ गोविन्द गाई

हाम्रो राष्ट्र एक गरीब राष्ट्र हो, यो कुरा ’ओये आईज घीच’ भन्ने देखी लिएर ’आइस्योस र खाइस्योस’ भन्ने जनता सम्म सबैलाई थाहा छ। त्यैपनी हाम्रो समाज यस्तो देखावटी समाज भाईसकेको छ कि, जस्को कुनै अर्थ नै छैन। हामी एम्पोर्टेड सामान खोज्छौ, किन भने बिदेश्मा बनेका सामानमा गुणस्तर हुन्छ र  राम्रा पनि हुन्छन्।

बेदेशको सन्स्क्रिती पनि नेपालमा भित्री सक्यो, डिस्को, डान्स बार, लुगा कपडा, र भाषा, बानी बेहोरा।

आजका युवा नेपालीमा १ देखी १०० सम्म पनिको गिन्ती आउँदैन। सुद्ध नेपाली बोल्दा अशिक्षित ठान्छन, बिचमा ईंग्लिश वर्ड युज नगरे त कसैलाई पनि सेटेस्फाइ नै हुँदैन, त्यस माथि फुल अन्डर्सट्यान्डिग हुनलाई ईंग्लिश वर्ड त डेफेनट्ली युज गर्नु पर्छनी, नत्र आज कलका युथ टोटल्ली कन्फिउजे र लस्ट हुन्छन।

 

हाम्रो समाज बस्तुगत समाज भैइ सकेको छ, र यहाँका मनिषको जीभन बस्तुहत जीवन भैइ सक्यो।

हामी राम्रा बेदेशी बस्तु खोज्छौ, प्रयोग गर्छौ तर हामी बेदेश्मा लागु हुने राम्रा नियम कानून, र त्यस देशमा लागु भएको राम्रा राम्रा समाजलाइ हीत पुर्यौउने तरिका चै अझै पनि भित्रौन सकेका छैनोउ।

 

पृथ्वी नारायण शाहले ’हामी एक हौं’ भनेका थिए, तर हामी आज सम्म पनि एक हुन सकेका छोइनोउ। सबैलाई आफ्नै गर्दैमा ठीक छ, अरुको बारेमा सोच्ने कस्को फुर्सद छ र यहाँ? ठुला बडा लाई आफ्नै घर बनाउदै, र तला थप्दै ठीक छ, यहाँ देश बनाउन लाई फुर्सद को सँग छ र?

यहाँ सबैलाई ठाउँमा पुग्न सबै भन्दा अगाडि हुनु छ, जे गर्न पनि  पहिल हुनु छ, ट्राफिकमा हेर्नुस्, लाइन बसेको हेर्नुस्, ३ फीटको ढोका बाट १०० जनालाई एकै चोटि घुस्नु छ, अर्काको खुट्टा तानेर हुन्छ, थिचेर वा मिचेर जे गरेर हुन्छ, म पहिल , म पहिल। आफ्नु स्वार्थ पुरा गर्न अरुलाई जेसुकै होस् मत्लब छैन। एौटा हुलमा किचिएर मरे, ठीक भएछ अब ९८ जाना बाँकी, अनी त मनै पैला पुगी हल्छुनी।

 

हामी त एक हौ, तर तपाईं कती जाना हुनुहुन्छ हँ?

जस्को पनि सोचाइ तपाईं होइन, मपाईं छ हाम्रो समाजमा।

यदी देश बनाउनमा सबै त्यसइ गरी अघी सरे त शायद यो देशमा परिवर्तन हुन्त्योकी?

 

सारे जहाँसे अछा नेपालस्थान हमारा

नेपाली राष्ट्रिय रेडियो तथा टेलिभिजन बाट हिन्दी गाना, हिन्दी चल्चित्र तथा हिन्दी टेलिसिरिअलको तुलनामा नेपाली सन्स्क्रिती, संगीत, र कार्यक्रम कमैमात्रामा प्रसाण हुन्छ। दोकान, सार्वजनिक बस, टेक्सी, चिया पसल र कुनै पनि मेला वा सम्मेलनमा, हिन्दी गाना बाहेक अरु त्यती बजेको पाइंदैन। आजकाल त भारु पनि हरेक ठाउँमा चल्न थालिसक्यो। के नेपाली रुपैया, संगीत, स्रिन्खला, र चल्चित्र भारतमा चल्छ?

 

नेपालीमै नेपाली युवाले सुन्न चाहदैन् त अरुले के सुन्थियो? जब आजका नेपाली युवा नै आफ्नो देशको संगीत, र सन्स्कार को सम्रक्षण गर्न अघी सर्दैनन् त, अरु राष्ट्रका सन्स्कार र मिडियाले हाम्रो सानो देशका साना कलाकार लाई त मिची हाल्छनी। जब हामी नै हाम्रो देशका सक्षम कलाकार हरुको सम्मान र सम्रक्षण गर्न सक्दैनोउ त अरु कस्ले गर्ने?

उदित नारायण झा नेपालमा जन्मेका, हुर्केका आज अफुलाई नेपाली भन्दैनन। प्रशान्त तमाङ जो भारतको बोडर्मा जन्मेका आफुलाई नेपाली भनी गर्व गर्छन्, त्यस माथि प्रसान्त तमाङ नेपालबाट होइन, भारत बाट चर्चित भए। के त्यस्ता सक्षम नेपाली कलाकारले आफुलाई चिनाउन बेदेशिनु पर्छ?

हाम्रो देशको राजनीतिक स्तिथी पनि बेदेसिएको छ। हाम्रा नेता आँफै निर्णय लिना सक्दैनन, देशमा राणा शासन लगुभये झै, आज बिदेसी राजनीति हाम्रा राजनीतिज्ञ मार्फत देशमा लागु भैरहेको छ। के हामि स्वतन्त्र हौं त, जाँहा हामिले मनलागेको नियम्, कानून र अफ्नै तरिकाको सर्कार् स्रिजन गर्न सक्छौ?

यदी सक्छौ भने किन नेपालको राजनीति भारतको राजधानी नयाँ दिल्ली बाट चल्छ। र कुनै पनि निर्णय लिनु पर्दा हाम्रा राजनीतिज्ञ भारत र चीन पुग्छन र कुनै बस्तु चाइना बाट ल्याउदा भरात रिसौछकी भनेर डराउँछन?

म एकदिन सिंह दरबार भित्र नेपाल तेलिभिजन ( राष्ट्रिय तेलिभिजन ) गएको थिए, बाहिर नै मैले यो देखेकी यो भवन् त मित्र राष्ट्र चीनले बनएको रछ। मैले सोचे किन हामी नेपालीले नै यो भवन् बनएनौ।

म केही नबोली भित्र पसे, म सँग मेरो काका पनि हुनुहुन्थ्यो।

पहिल्लो तल्लामा म मेरो काका को साथीलाई कुर्दा, मैले एक चिन्नह सङंकेत गरे जस्ले मलाई ठुलो सोचमा पर्‍यो।

आगलागी हुँदा "बाहिर" भनेर देखाउने चिन्नह (fire exit) मेरो नजर्मा पर्यो,

त्यस चिन्नहमा तल अङ्रेजिमा exit भनेर लेखिएको थियो, त त्यस्को माथि नेपालीमा "बाहिर" नलेखी चाइनिज अक्षर्मा केही लेखिएको थियो। मलाई चाइनिज पढ्न आउँदैन र म बुज्दिन पनि, मेरो अनुमानमा त्यहाँ चाइनिजमा बाहिर लेखिएको थियो होला।

 

के नेपाली सर्बसाधारण जनताले त्यो बेदेसी अक्षर्मा लेखिएको चिन्नह बुजलान त? कि शायद मैले यो लेख अङ्रेजी, चाइनिज, वा हिन्दिमा बाहिर बिदेश्मा बसी लेख्नु पर्थियो कि?

 

हामीले जसरी नेपाल तेलिभिजन को त्यस्तो राम्रो भवन तथा अरु सबै भवनहरु बेदेसी राष्ट्रलाई बनाउन दिएका छौ, शायद देश पनि बरु अरु राष्ट्रलाइनै सुम्पिदिउ, शायद बनाउछन र हामीलाई फिर्ता दिन्छन कि? किन फिर्ता नदिने,  नदिये हामी वीर अजय गोर्खाली खुकुरी लीइ उनिहरुलाई खेदिहाल छौनी होइन र भन्या?

 

कि शायद त्यही भैइरहे छ, हाम्रा नेताले त देशमा चुनाव सम्मा नि गर्न सकेका छैनन, भने, पछी हाम्रा मित्र राष्ट्रले आएर, लौ तिमीहरुले गर्न सकेनौ देश हामीलाई सुम्प, हामी बनाइ दिन्छौ। र तपाईं हामी सबैलाई थाहा छ हाम्रा नेताको जवाफ के हुन्छ, "हस साब"।

 

आशामा अढिएको देश

 

नेपाल आज आशै आशमा अढिएको भेटिन्छ।

यहाँ कसैले आफ्नो निर्णय लिन नसक्ने भेटे मैले। पढेलेखेका ले नै आज आफ्नो बारेमा निर्णय लिन सक्दैन्न। के शिक्षित ब्यक्तिले कुनै पनि बिषयमा निर्णय लिन र दिन सक्नु पर्ने होइन।

कि के हाम्रो देशको शिक्षानै त्यती कम्जोर छ, यदी छ भने त्यस्लाई हामीले किन दर्हो र तगडा बनाउन अघी सरेका छैनोउ? के यो आधुनिक समाजमा शिक्षानै सबै भन्दा ठुलो र महत्वपूर्ण चीज होइन?

 

यहाँ जागिर माग्न कती पया ठाउँमा ब्यक्ति धाउछन्, सबै ठाउँमा ब्यक्तिको शिक्षाको पत्र हेर्छन्र भन्छन "तपाइ जस्तो मान्छेको हामीलाई खाचो छ, हामी केही दिन पछी तपाईंलाई संपर्क गर्छौ।" यदी खाचो छ भने पछी संपर्क किन गर्नु, त्यही निर्णय किन लिन नसकेका?

त्यै पनि संपर्क कहिलै गर्दैन्न। त्यस जागिर खोज्ने ब्यक्तिलाई आशा देखाइ त्यतिकै दिनहु झुल्याइ दिन्छन। केही दिन पछी आँफै फेरी संपर्क गर्दा, "हुदैछ, हामी फलानो फलानो कुरा मिलाउदै छौ तपाईं प्रतिकक्षा गर्नुस्न, हामी तपाईंलाई संपर्क गरी हल्छोउनि।" भनी फेरी आश देखौछन। हुन्छ वा हुँदैन भन्ने निर्णय यहाँ कोहो दिन सक्दैनन। हुँदैन भनी दिये त त्यो ब्यक्ती चुप्चाप आफ्नो समय अर्को ठाउँमा खोज्न प्रयोग गर्थियो नि।

मलाई लाग्छ शायद देश पछाडि परेको कारण पनि एक यही हो। हाम्रा नेताहरु को बाचान पनि त्यस्तै छ, जनतालाई मिठो मिठो शब्द दिएर "ओहो हुन्छकी बा, यस्लेपो गर्छ कि बा" भन्ने पर्छन, तर तही मिठो शब्दलाई पलना गरेर वास्तवमा आफ्नो कुरा पुर्याएको चै कोही पनि छैनन्।

ना ना थरिका फलाना कारण ले र फलानका कारनले मैले गर्न सकिन भनी बाहाना गर्छन्। यदी आफुले भने झै गर्न नसके जनतालाई आशा देखाउनुनै किन? कि हामी लाई आशाको लड्डुनै स्वादिलो लाग्न थाल्यो?

कि हामी साचै अशिक्षित हौ जो आशामा बाँची रहेका छौ?

जसरी फलामले फलामलाई काट्छ, शिक्षितलाई आफु भन्दा शिक्षितले नै मुर्ख बनाउछ।

मलाई एक मित्रले भन्नु भयो:

"यो देशका शिक्षित सबै देश छोडि बिदेश गये अरे र बिदेशमा शान सँग घर बनाइ बिहानको पत्रीका पल्टाइ आफ्न श्रीमती सँग भन्छन अरे 'ये बुडी लौ हेर, देश त ति लौरो लीइ भैंसी धपाउने गोठाला, एस् एल सि फेल नेता हरुले खताम्मै पारी सके। हामी भा भये कस्तो बनाइ दिन्थियौम्।"

यो मलाई तितो सत्य लाग्यो।

मलाई मेरो बुवा आमा, तथा सबै नाता गोताले भन्नु हुन्थियो, शिक्षित मान्छे आफ्नै खुट्टामा उभिन्छ, त्यसैले पढेर आफ्नै खुट्टामा उभिन सिख।

मैले आज यो बुझेकी, आशा गर्नु अरुको भरोसामा बस्नु हो, तसर्थ आफ्नु खुट्टामा उभिनुको ठीक बिपरित।

हाम्रो देश किन आज अरु राष्ट्रको भरोषामा र कोही आई केही गर्देलाकी भन्ने आशामा बाँचि रहेको छ।

यहाँ समयको महत्वनै छैन, १२ बजे भेट्ने ब्यक्ती २ बजे भेतिन्छ, गाली गरे ' नेपाली टाईम' भन्छन। के हामी सबैको घडीको सुई एकै नासमा हिड्दैन कि कसो?

हिड्छ भने हामीले घडी लगाएको अर्थ के भयो त?

र त्यस माथि एक थोक भनेर अर्को थोक गर्नु, झुठो बोल्नु होइन?

जहाँ कोहिपनी आफ्नो एक दिनको योजना सही तरिकाले बनाउन सक्दैनन र बनाएको योजना अनुसार आँफै चल्न सक्दैनन त यो देशको बिकासको योजना कस्ले र कसरी बनाउने हो कोनि?

एक कान दुई कान मैदान (हल्लामा चलेको देश)

 

म एकदिन टेक्सिमा चडेर घर औदैथिए, बाटोमा खोइ केको जुलुस् थियो र ट्रफिक् जाममा फसे, म कच् कचे मान्छे,

ड्राइभर दाई सँग गफ गर्न थाले। ड्राइभर दैले यो जुलुसको बिसयमा मलाई भन्नु भयो:

"यो देशका जनता, भाई, स्याल जस्ता छन। पैला यो काठमाडौंमा जता तेतै स्याल कराउथियो, आज ई जनता कराउछन्।"

" किन र दाई, के को जुलुस हो यो?" भनेर सोधे मैले।

"स्यललाई कारण चाइदैन भाई, एुटा स्याल बीचमा आएर 'म जंगलको राजा हो कि होइन' भनेर बेस्सरी चिच्याउछ। र अरु उस्का स्याल साथी एक एक गर्दै 'हो, हो, हो' भन्दै सगै चिच्याउन सुरु गर्छन्, र एकै छिनमा त्यहाँ हुल दाङा हुन्छ। यो देशमा त्यस्तै हुन्छ सधैं।"

साचै नै यो देश हल्लामा नै चलेको छ जस्तो लाग्छ, कहिले काही। यहाँ कुनै पनि सही कार्य वा कर्वाही हुँदैन, हल्लाको स्रोत पत्ता नलगाइ हालैको भर्मा जो पनि काम र कार्वाही गर्छन्।

हल्लैको भर्मा यहाँ दंङा हुन्छ, कसैलाई केही बुझ्नु छैन, सही कुरा के हो पत्ता लगाउनु छैन, कर्वाही गर्नु छैन।

कुनै हल्ला चल्योकी, तोड फोड र टायर बाल सुरु भाई हाल्छ। के हाम्रा बुवा आमाले हामीलाई यही शिक्षा दिएका छन, कुरा वास्तवमा के हो नबुझी बाहिर जानु देशको सम्पत्तिको क्ष्ती पुर्‍याउनु, टायर बल्नु र अरु सर्ब साधारण जनताको स्वास्थ्य बिगारनु र पुरै बातावरण खराब गर्नु।

जुलुसमा भाग नलिने जनतालाई जबर्जस्ती भाग गराउन लगाउनु, नगरे टाउको फुटाइदिनु वा उस्को गाडी खोसेर जलाइदिनु।

हामि लाइ चित्त नबुझेको कुरामा के हामी सभ्य भएर सभ्यताका साथ नारा र जुलुस निकाल्न सक्दैनौ।

जुलुस निक्लेको बेलामा आफ्नै सुर्मा बाटो हिड्दै गरेको ब्यक्ती संगत हाम्रो असहमती त होइननी, त त्यस ब्यक्तिलाई दु:ख किन दिने?

Please forgive me, i cannot type in Nepali.

I just read the first part of your post. You raise lost of valid questions.

Respect of rule of law, like you suggest, is critical for stability and property of the country.
Fairness and equal treatment, like you suggest, has been lacking in Nepal.
Politicians don't seem to be serving the public, rather their own interest.

I believe you message resonates a lot with the common people of Nepal.
There are lots of scattered voices here in Saja.
How can we combine all these scatted voices to make it loud enough to make our leaders hear us?
What can we/ should we do?

I have a comfortable life abroad. I think there are lots of people like me who frequent this forum. I am being honest. I can speak for myself, its so much easier to live this way than give up everything here and return home. So what can I do?
Its not very practical solution for myself to just return home and start protesting against all the issue in Nepal. I also have to make a living.

We need a coordinated effort if we really want to do something about the issues you raise Suyog Ji. Who is going to start it?

But unlike the first part of you post, I dont agree with a lot of what you said in this part. I believe you were trying to make a point in the above two paragraph that I copied. And I think i kinda understand what you mean. Like kids these days not being able to speak proper Nepali, and our politicians working on the whim of India, China and other nations. The two paragraphs above were very cleverly put together, I laughed a little bit (good job :D)

Some of the things I don't agree with.
- Indian media tend to be superior in quality. I think i am being objective here. They invest a lot of money in their movies and other media. Lots of aspiring actors and musicians find more opportunity to hone their talents, unlike in Nepal. Just the fact that they have big budget, enables them to produce high quality media.
- Its true that Hindi media is very invasive in Nepal. But I dont think its an exclusive thing, one can enjoy both if one wishes. I really love listining to old Nepali songs and some pop songs.

-About buying foreign goods. We dont really have an option do we? We dont produce cars, cell phone, needles, etc. We kinda dont have the raw materials to produce some of these things.
I agree with you regarding people wanting to show off their mobile phones and wanting to build bigger and more expensive houses.

But there is one main thing that I disagree with you. It is very dangerious to talk about Nationalism and trying to be very exclusive. Its true that Prithivi Narayan Shah united our country, and which I think is really good. But we are not one, in the sense we are all the same. There are lots of diversity in Nepal. We should be one in a sense, we accept Nepal in all facet of life under one umbrella.
I my opinion, it would be wrong to say, one should only speak Nepali. One should only listen to Nepali media, buy only nepali goods and ban Hindi movies and songs and goods, etc.

I dont think you went as far as above, but that idea came to my mind from your second post.

The line resonates with my thinking as well. Most things in Nepal are built by others, be it roads, bridges, buildings, traffic lights, and everything else. A major chunk of govt budget depends on foreign aid. The way I see it, most of the major projects in Nepal are waiting for some foreigner's grant and the commissions that tag along with it. We are like the hungry person that looks forward to a fish everyday, but never try to fish.

I read the last part of your post Suyog Ji. I agree with almost all of it. Well written.
So this is what I get from your post.
Nepali people need to respect the rule of law.
Nepal should depend more on themselves then depending upon foreign help.
We should respect our culture and heritage.
There should be more transparency with everything and more accountability.
And people should demonstrate without destroying public property and discuss in more civilized manner. 

I totally agree with you.

I was just curious, if any body had any insight on this question. Who are the person that burn tires on the street? What do you think motivates these people and why do they do it? Do they know what they are doing is very deconstructive?
Any body here burnt any tire lately :P

Thankx a million for your comment, it was really nice to read it.

I mean no negative things about the people living aboard and living their lives, I understand you and all Nepali living aboard, when the country's situation is as it is today and since as long as I can remember, people have no other choice then to flee their homeland. When there are no Jobs in the country, no law and order, and no respect for each other.

One can't simply just can't fight whole their life or sit and do nothing but hang around talking big talks. I also know this that if the country's situation improve posit ably, and the jobs are available and proper law and order is established. And this idea of "Nepal Banda" is dismissed for good then the business can run well. Then I am 100% sure that Almost every Nepali living aboard will return home.

I thing I don't understand by these people declaring "Nepal Banda" and "Chakka Jam". How cannot they think that Nepal's economy is effecting with these kind of act. But I guess that it is a lack of education.

Sedif, I am not saying that we should completely ban Hindi movies and songs, and I do not disagree with you that India has great talents in media and many other fields as well.

If you see Hindi movies 10 years ago and see the Hindi movies today, what can you see? I see that those Hindi movies made 10 years ago are made the same way as they had done since the beginning, and today they make it as Hollywood makes the movies, their standards and method. We all know that 75 % of the Hindi movies are the copycat of Hollywood movies,

But Nepali movies are made the same way as Hindi movies from 80's and 90's. I know that there is low budget for the movie, but where there is a will there is a way. Story can be told in better way with the same budget, and present the story in much better way. One just need a good story, and the budget to shoot one song in Europe or Malaysia can be put to something better use in the same film.

And also why go to India to record a movie song, and pay handsome amount to get Indian singers to sing the movie song, when there are truly many good Nepali singers in Nepal. The budget is again saved by doing so, I believe. Beside Nepali movie songs are not as popular as the song sang by a band. And in India basically only the movie songs are popular.

One thing makes me mad about India is that Indian rupee is accepted in every store in Nepal even in the capital. And when an Indian comes to Nepal and talks Hindi to me, (Well That is all right I don't mind) BUT when I answer him back in Nepali then he telling me to answer in Hindi coz he did not understand. That (Excuse my language) pisses me off bit time. But this is my personal problem. :)

I agree with you that we do not have any choice but to bye foreign goods and I am not criticizing people buying foreign good. I am simply just questioning that why we can’t also invent things and sell them. As far as i know we have enough raw materials, we just need the information and knowledge to know how to use them. we have a saying in nepali "Bujnelai shiri khanda, nabujne lai khurpa ko beed", And "Badar ko haat maa Nariwal". What I am trying to say is we may not recognize the raw material, or know how to use the material we have.

Regarding the tire burning in nepal, they are all well educated but completely illiterate nepali students, who had nothing to do the whole day and their hormones are very high, they are the one doing so, and many other are just going with the flow.
