KATHMANDU, Oct 24 - Durbarmarg area in the capital got tense after the employees of Casino Anna clashed with the security personnel inside the premises of Hotel Annapurna.
A local television reported that at least 25 people were injured in the skirmish.
The Armed Police Force (APF) personnel fired several rounds of tear gas shells to disperse the crowd, but in vain.
Reports say that employees of other casinos in the capital have now assembled at the Hotel Annapurna premises.
The employees are presently chanting slogans demanding to safeguard the rights of the labours.
Meanwhile, Minister for Home Affairs Bamdev Gautam has directed the APF personnel not to give up in taking the situation under control.
He added that the illegal activities carried out inside the casinos must be controlled.
A number of APF personnel could be seen surrounding the gate of the Hotel Annapurna.
The Casino Anna employees claim that the clash occurred after drunken police personnel entered the casino.
