I heard from a family of a young nepali man who is in Texas Detention center. It looks like he was caught by US -Mexico border patrol when this guy was trying to sneak in from Mexico. He was studying in Singapore before that and paid couple of thousands dollar to the agent who took him to Mexico. No-one knows what happened next. I don't have full details and what happens now and wondering if anyone would like to share their knowledge and help his poor family.

1.  Do you know any lawyers/Human rights group/Non-profit organization in San-Antonia area who works      in      cases like this?
2. Does our embassy in DC help in case like this?

It looks like they release detainees on bond if he gets court dates or legal representations.
The address of the detention center is:
SOUTH TEXAS DETENTION COMPLEX
566 Veterans Drive
Pearsall, Texas  78061
United States
Phone: 830-334-2939
Fax: 830-334-9192

Details about the facilities and legal opportunities can be found here:
http://www.ice.gov/pi/dro/facilities/southtexas.htm

Thank you all for your help.

Normally, when a person is arrested at a port of entry, he/she can claim for political/social/racial/gender/religious asylum, if s/he qualifies and has a history of past persecution and a fear o future persecution. This is known as Defensive Asylum Process. Generally they are released provided with a court date after a detailed statement is taken. In some places, they continue to keep the person in detention until a final decision is made.

Nepal Embassy can do nothing in this regard. Try reaching out for Nepali  Community organisations in TX and also see if the following helps:

PAPA is becoming American Gateways!
After 21 years of non-profit service providing free and low cost legal aid to Central Texas immigrants, PAPA, the Political Asylum Project of Austin, is changing its name to American Gateways. Please join us as we host a premier launch party to celebrate this exciting new era of non-profit excellence.
