We all love our country. But Nepal is in ICU at the moment. The leaders are good at giving lip service while squabbling about trivial. We are in despair so much that we think if we could just escape this land, everything will be peachy, only to wake up and find ourselves in deeper troubles abroad, like the workers who go to Gulf countries and those female students in Australia who have been adopting the oldest profession in the world to survive. We all know the situation is dire. Where lies the flicker of hope? Surely, there should be a silver lining amidst these dark clouds, right? Those of you who are in USA and have attended colleges there are familiar with the most famous JFK quote: “Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what can you do for your country”. That is true not only for USA but every country in the world, particularly one as in dire need of its educated manpower as Nepal. So, please ask yourself: What can I do? How can I help?

I gave an option to take a positive action through spot sponsorship on a Grand Canyon Wall worth US$100/- a spot. Only one person has come forth. That indicates a collective failure of people who visit sajha to share and exchange all kind of things. Well, I even gave an option for collective sponsorship for each spot. I understand that most of you are spread out far and wide so may not be able to make groups. So I now open it for group sponsorship through EduVision. We will make groups of four for you, if possible from your own district/city/village in Nepal. We can have groups or 4 or five sponsoring each spot. So far we have had only individual sponsors, but we also need to have group sponsorship. The idea is not only to raise money for a computer lab but also to do it with widest number of participation from widest number of countries where Nepali diasporas reside.

So now you can send individual sponsorship request of US$ 20/- or 25/- directly to EduVision through email, through this thread or through EduVision “contact me” sheet. Let’s take a stand for new Nepal and act now.  I just created facebook profile too just to promote this effort, if you are interested.

Nepal "ama" is a "dukhi" ama because she has "loud mouthing" sons who have abandoned, right. There are people who are doing things from their own areas, in their own areas. Now we have someone doing something for Okaldhunga. But where are the others? Why not help each other do somethiing everywhere in Nepal. Is it going to go to waste?
