Defaulting on your credit card dues is not a criminal offence. So you should not have an issue. They charge hefty interest on the credit cards just to cover their write offs on gentlemen like yourselves.

I know one guy back from Nepal who came to U.S around 10 yrs ago and went home after completing his course but failed to pay the due amount to banks after using credit cards. He went home but when he applied to US again, he was rejected. The reason was simple, he cheated and they could pull his records. He has been to many countries but not in US after that. Many of his collegues have already came to US 2/3 times for training purpose except that guy.So be careful and look your future..

Actually what i posted above was solely for those who will be permanently going back to Nepal without paying their dues. As long as you are coming back to US and you gonna pay them latter on..you should be fine ...just higher interest rate or extra charge for late payment and ofcourse slight change in your credit history..Actually i missed the part "farkine bela" in your thread while reading and i posted that comment which was off the track...Anyways people have to care of that too......

Unless you voluntarily disclose your credit history, I don't think the immigration would know any of it. Again, there are exceptions. If you raise other flags, eg., share the last name with Mr. Bin Laden himself, you are subject to further probing, in which case they will dig up your finances from the past. Otherwise, credit history is a piece of information that is unlikely to be a trigger.
